Exactly! It's not like the Rockets aren't trying to make a deal -- they make it sound like they just answer the phone when it rings, but believe me -- there are players on this team that Rudy wants to move, no doubt about it. They just may be handcuffed right now -- Finances and contracts play a much bigger role this year than they ever have. If I was to guess, I'd say they would like to move Mo Taylor first. Then there's Rice, Cato and Mobley there also. My list is to move Mobley first. Then Cuttino, Cat and Mobley. I still would like to find out where the Allen rumor originated from. It's not like it was some "fan" or friend of a friend that told it to me -- but it wasn't real info. It was "there is a rumor going around here" type of thing - with "here" being an important place.
Outlaw, your scenario is pretty funny. NVE is no more of a PG than any of our PGs now, but I'd rather have him than Mooch (obviously). I like Cato more than Bradley, and I don't think Bradley would like playing with the guy that made him look especially bad and was indirectly the source of much criticism.
Thanks again Clutch Particularly for this line: I was starting to wonder if Walton was right and that Rudy "is going straight to heaven" (for being the most patient person on the planet), or if some of the posters' impressions were correct... and that he is just aloof. As long as we have a sentient coach... as long as he's more annoyed at his players than we are, then he has my vote of confidence.
Achebe, this line is better from Clutch "My list is to move Mobley first. Then Cuttino, Cat and Mobley."
Nick was #2 in the NBA in assists per game in 99-00 with 9.0 He was #3 in total assists the following season. When has Steve or Moochie done that? He's not a "pure" point guard but he is better than what we have. Check these numbers: Nick's career stats: 5014 assists and 1562 turnovers. Steve's career stats: 1700 assists, 1000 turnovers Moochie's career stats: 957 assists, 377 turnovers As ong as Bradley continues to be a shot blocker for 15 mins per game who cares what he likes?
I'm not just saying this as a biased Rockets fan or avid Rocket Gaurd-Supporter, but I honestly do NOT think Ray Allen can do anything Mobley can't when he's got his touch in working order.
*sigh* I thought the best shot the rox had at a deal was with the hawks because they were so depserate to unload their players (hawks). But seeing that the Rox turned down an abdur raheim for EG deal (David Aldridge NBA2Night) i think they will be content to stay pat this season.
Indeed, that is a great relief. Just a thought, though: what about Moochie? Shouldn't he be in that list too with his rather large contract and sub-par play this season? Specially since we also have Maddox too? And what about Griffin? Are the Rockets clearly against trading him as turning down SAR indicates or they might move him for the right offer? Thanks for the tips Clutch! You're the man!
This trade will never go down. Why would the Bucks make this trade? How is it going to make them any better? I would be surprised if it did go down, but it would be nice if it did.
Honestly, I think that this trade would stink. Our big men may not be the best, but I don't think that they get due credit for being good roleplayers. I really like Allen's game but as another poster pointed out he is injury prone of late, and the dropoff isn't too bad with Mobes. You all hate Mobes, this I know..., but the guy is not a bad player no matter how you spin it. I say no to the trade, just my opinion.
Don't see it happening. Especially since MoT is getting his shot back, and most shocking of all...he has been seen going after rebounds! Cato...I would really hate to lose him, hustle..rebounding...how can we get rid of him when he is finally starting to play well? I think the Rockets stick with what they have, and look to make a move in the offseason.
This trade would seem nice that Ray Allen would be a Rocket, but i wouldn't take the risk. If Ming gets injured then our big man (Collier), would take over the Center and i don't think he would have a big inside presences. And Eddie needs to time to grow. If we lose Mobley then Allen would be filling up the spot but he seems to be aching with injuries lately.
Isn't Allen supposed to be a terrible defender? I know the Rockets need an outside shooter right now, but our backcourt defense is pretty suspect as it is. With Francis and Allen there, I think our frontcout would be in foul trouble all the time. It's definitely a deal to consider, but max money for a player with injury problems and no D might not be a great idea (see Rice).
I agree with everything but the playoff part. What playoff games have you been watching? Allen is clutch..... Ray Allen would be a perfect addition for this team. Then again, I don't believe it will happen.
