I would rather take Redd because he is a pretty good defender too.We would miss Cato and Mobley but would gain a better shooter if we got either Allen or Redd. If we somehow got Ervin Johnson in as well that would make it even better.
Somehow I get the feeling that the Rockets are desperately trying to make a deal but I don't know if anything will materialize.
My hunch is that we will have the same players with us after the trade deadline.I also feel that the Rockets will never put out in public anything until a deal would go through and it does seem surprising that this rumor is coming out now.

    Count me in.

Ray Allen would actually accomplish what Rice was supposed to do for us in that ill-fated trade.

With Allen, we will be $$$ my friend. Leave him alone at your peril. This trade would also mean that we are going to stick with Steve at 1 for the long run though.

But short of a true PG, that's probably the best SG we could have, as he averages a high number of assists too.

    Let's hope it goes down!

    nyquil82,

I can confirm that there is no way that trade works under the CBA rules. So if that is what you got, I can confirm that it doesn't work, my friend.

Now SAR isn't a bad consolation prize if we can't land Allen, as long as we don't give up EG to get SAR.

nyquil,A lot of unconfirmed stuff is going to come out at the last minute and some of it is highly unrealistic including the rumor that you just heard about.

nyquil82, would you mind passing along a link? That exact trade doesn't work under the CBA, but of course Atlanta could always throw in some salary, Nazr Mohammed would make it work. But then we have the same problem we had before we traded KT, 3 PFs, Mo would have to be sent packing somewhere.

You've got some spanish, but let's translate that so you can start working on your portuguese....

Indeed, why not Griffin for SAR?

I prefer Grant or Brand, but I would trade Griffin for SAR in a hearbeat.

Well lol...of course I would love Grant or Elton Brand. But they are not available anymore...and the Heat and Clippers did not offer anything. THE HAWKS were the ones who proposed the trade...but we declined.

Anyways...Clutch should hopefully update us soon!!! Please...I cannot wait any longer..:)

Orlando and Memphis pulled off the first big trade before Thursday's NBA deadline, agreeing to a four-player deal that sent Mike Miller and Ryan Humphrey from the Magic to the Grizzlies for rookies Drew Gooden and Gordan Giricek, the Associated Press learned Wednesday.

    That's the first trade!!!

If that was pulled off....then we can certainly get Ray Allen!!! Or SAR!!!

    LiTtLeY1521,

If you believe in the development of EG and Nachbar, you don't sign a MAX contract player ahead of them. MING is still and will continue to be a rookie this year, the plan being that we approach and hopefully make the playoffs. EG could pave the way to Brand this summer. SAR will still be available then. Teams are not willing to trade for him with a MAX contract. He's too soft. I guess if you had a banger at the 4 and could slide him to the 3 I believe SAR has more value to that team. For instance, if the Spurs landed SAR, that would be sick.

I don't think this is the year to sell the farm (trade EG). We haven't proven that we can play consistently, and I for one am not certain that SAR would bring the consistency (DEFENSE) that we need. Once EG is gone, he's gone, and then WE'RE left with an immovable SAR. This team is too young, too new to make that drastic of a trade. Now, if Brand is available this summer, then moving EG makes more sense. But EG's my favorite, so admittedly I have a biased opinion.

There are smarter people on this board than me, so I'm sure they'll chime in.

Ray Allen is a great player and still young. That would be a great trade for the Rockets.
I could also see why the Bucks would do it. Cat is a pretty good SG and Mo Taylor gives them a pretty good scoring PF.

It looks as if the Bucks are going to pull a old Mavs(ala Kidd, Mashburn, Jackson)
