If LeMond was 100% clean, it absolutely was his place to come after Armstrong. If he wasn't, then it wasn't his place. Of course none of us should be trying to guess whether or not he did.

Honestly, I don't know if Lemond was 100% clean. However I do know Lemond was naturally more talented. The dude would eat crap food before stages. He also came back from being shot with a shotgun and having buckshot still in his body. The reason he didn't win more Tours is because he was being "good soldier" for Hinault when he was young.

It wasn't a win at all costs mentality back then. If it was, Fignon would have cut off his silly pony tail which scientist claimed to cost Fignon the TDF to Lemond.

I do not know if he was. Even during Merckx' times, it was sort of known that many riders took stuff. But I doubt that there was a system organized in such a mafia-esque way as in Armstrong's case during LeMond's time.

And regardless, all the things Armstrong tried to spread to character-assassinate LeMond are inexcusable, just like his threats.

Absolutely. Nobody deserved the treatment they received from Armstrong. The personal attacks and burying everyone with legal expenses plus killing their income sources is unforgivable. Worst yet he isn't sorry about it. He's pissed off that it all collapsed.

I think they used to take quite a bit of speed -- not meth, but 'pep pills' like MLB players took for decades. This is the same speed that is in adderall and other ADHD meds.

What Lance did to LeMond and is family is sick...
    _____

SI: So Armstrong threatened you and Greg in 2001, when Greg spoke out and said he thought Lance was doping.

LeMond: That call is embedded in my and Greg's heads. It was a life-changing thing and we knew it at the time.

    SI: What was it like?

LeMond: Terrified. Terrified. I don't know if you've talked to other people who have gotten that call. But [Armstrong] is crazy angry. He is screaming. He gets out of control. I mean, he threatens in a way ... he said to Greg that he would find 10 guys to come out and say that Greg had used EPO to win in his career. He was convinced that Greg could never have won clean. He was like, 'come on, you used EPO, everyone used EPO.' Greg said, 'I did not use EPO!' And he said he'd find 10 guys to say Greg did.
