McHale punishes Lin too much and it costs Houston games. Punishing is not a very effective teaching method. Morey should squash it.

I gotta say...out of all the losses this year, this one has upset me the most.

Playing a very good team on the road and we hang with them, and even outplay them, for most of the game. McHale kept Lin on the bench for what seemed like forever while Douglas kept bricking shots. Harden and Lin were on the bench at the same time far too often, something that should honestly never happen. Asik getting taken out when he's dominating on the boards, I could go on and on. You all know how it went. I don't even really need to go into detail.

Mchale straight up lost us the game. There was a stretch of about 5 minutes in the 4th quarter where we didn't score a point. McHale has to realize this and make a change. You can't just keep going with what's clearly not working, and even the dumbest of basketball minds can understand that.

This was a huge test for us, and we handled it very well, but it was just given away. Such a shame, and this is the worst loss of the season in my opinion.

Well said. This is going to hurt us come playoff time. I promise you that. I wouldn't be surprised if we missed the playoffs due to a tiebreaker. This season is going to end up that way. Mchale didn't understand the importance of this game. If he did, he sure as hell didn't coach like it. This is embarassing

I remember extremist LOFs saying McHale had a vendetta against Lin, that he was racist. I still think that's a baseless and absurd criticism but I can actually understand where they're coming from now.

Lin is treated like a piece of **** by McHale. If Lin plays well it doesn't matter, he sticks to his substitution pattern and pulls Lin out in the 1st quarter with around 4 minutes to play.

If Douglas plays well Lin rides the bench indefinitely even when it should be obvious by now that if Douglas stays in the game for too long and Lin is absent, that the offense gets really, really bad.

He even put in a rookie Patrick Beverley over Lin in the clutch for a few games.

PUT SOME FAITH IN YOUR STARTING POINT GUARD.

How can you expect him to play consistently well, when he's being treated so inconsistently like trash?

Both Mchale and sampson, Lin needs to bust his inner diva out and throw tantrums, maybe that will get them to back off. Just fail coaching right now.

Either Harden or Lin should be in the game at all times. Rocket's offense sucks when they are both out. It should be beyond obvious to anyone watching the rockets.

Really frustrated with the Denver game...Rockets should have won it. We were doing so well. I see what Mchale was doing...he waited tell Ty Lawson to come back in to bring back Lin. That was a mistake on his part. He thought he was being smart, but he failed right there.

Lin was doing so well in this game. The ball movement was so much better with Lin on the floor. Lin was helping the team and making a big difference.

Coach Mchale decided to bring Lin back in the 4th finally when Lawson checked back in. You could see right away that the team played better with Lin in. However the team was just running uphill at this point because Mchale decided to bring Lin back in too late.

Mchale talks always complain about the ball being sticky and yet he left Douglas out there for way too long. Douglas isn't as good of a passer as Lin obviously. You could see with both Douglas and Harden out there the ball movement wasn't as good. They were struggling to score, and yet Mchale refused to make any changes and stuck with it.

Wow..really frustrated with this game. I wonder if Lin would even be back in the game if Lawson didn't check back in for Miller. Mchale needs to watch the tape after this game and see why he failed the team. The rockets needed a real point guard desperately in this game and Mchale decided to sit him for too long.

Wait tell during the post game interview with Mchale and someone brings up what happened earlier in the 4th quarter. He'll say ..."The ball was sticky..." as always...
I would like it more if he would for once admit that maybe HE didn't do a good job...

Also a bad loss. No question about it. This loss just upset me more. It was a big time test for us that we were doing perfectly well in, but just was handed away by the coaching staff in the 2nd half and we couldn't recover. Winning games like this shows what we REALLY can do. Losing to Portland at the very beginning of the season before we really have any chemistry or any expectations isn't as disappointing in my opinion.

LMAO we're not making the play-offs with this monkey as our head coach it's another 14th pick.

We need to blow out teams otherwise McFail will find a way to lose them. We're the anti-clutch team, thanks to McFail.

I'm as pissed as you but Lin throwing a tantrum will only land him in Lowry's territory. The coach has to go this time, not the player.

When you're outplaying the opponent, let him make the adjustments to you, not the other way around. George Karl schooled McHale this game. He must have been laughing in his head when McHale benched Asik to 'counter' him.

McHale was way too late to make substitutions and adjustments tonight and it cost us the game. With that said I agree that he basically waited until Lawson came back in to put Lin back in the game. This obviously was a huge mistake.

What I don't understand is why he took Asik out and went with small ball for so long?

    1. Harden is an opposing defensive magnet and you don't want your top offensive player to be the ball handler. I guess the Coaches haven't learned from the losing streak.
    2. The coaches should learn how to use your point guard properly. Every player playing a share of PG leads to chaotic offense and lots of TOs for the team. Does the 3rd quarter against Nuggets look similar to our losing streak ? It killed our momentum and confidence.

He basically did throw a tantrum when he got back in the game - he just went HAM and said FU to McHale - taking it to the rack again and again.

I wonder how many PGs we'll have to go through before Morey and Les realize it might be time for a coaching change.

Simmer down your hopes, because Morey handpicked McHale, which means he's got a looooooooong leash before he ****s up badly enough to get fired.
