Can James Harden be Clyde Drexler?(no need to say prime cause he was always awesome)

Discussion in 'Houston Rockets: Game Action & Roster Moves' started by tinman, Jan 30, 2013.

?

Can he be Drexler?

  1. Yes, and Lin = Terry Porter and Parsons = Cliff Robinson

I know this is off topic for this thread -- but is T Mac a hall of famer? I would say no, but he is close. If he does get in though, I wonder how many hall of famers do not have their jersey retired but no teams. Again, I know it is off topic, but your post got me to thinking about it.

Having TMac on the team was certainly a strange experience as a fan. What a weird career.

WTF? No he can not be a Clyde Drexler, but he might be able to surpass him. with another piece.

Clyde is my favorite player all time living in Portland. Clyde is way more athletic than Harden is. If it wasn't for MJ, Clyde would be up higher in everyone's all time list. His 92 season was beast mode. He wasn't part of the Dream Team for nothing.

Funny thing was, Houston took out Portland that year in the first round. Glad he got 1 in houston with the Dream though.

LOL, I wish Clyde had stayed in the league a few years longer. He actually had a few years game left before he retired.

He wont make the Hall of Fame. He has a career average of 19PPG and no Playoff victories. Also has no done anything special for basketball off the court and has been a cancer on teams, asked for trades, and is booed by his 3 main former teams fans. ( Houston, Toronto, Orlando)

Harden can actually dribble the ball.

Clyde could dribble, he just had to look at the ball. That was some ability he had to be able to look at the ball and still know where he was going.

Games are more similar than some people here are suggesting, both players like to attack the rim as their primary option. Harden certainly can be as good as clyde, but he still has work to do.

Poll is stupid though. Porter and Robinson were all star level players, not superstars, but still great players. Parsons and Lin aren't close to those 2 right now.

I've made this comparison before, both are relentless in driving to the rim.

I don't think anyone would mistake their styles for one another, but they fill up the stat line in very similar ways, and they do have similar skills like their ability to get to the basket in the half court and on the break.

    Who is his Hakeem?

Harden was 6 years old when the Rockets last won a trophy.

Can Tinman be more annoying than T-Mac was in his annoying prime? I don't know what's more annoying, Tinman beating a dead horse over and over again, ignoring the fact he was a great player at one point, or reminiscing the days T-Mac was being a drama queen. Hmmm don't know.

Don't know what you are talking about.

You know that Clyde was a great open court player and explosive dunker, they also have great assist stats.

    check out Clyde's stats:

you know 99er i'm just teaching people about drexler!
the youngsters just know him as a bad tv commentator, this is when he was a bad..ass player!

look at drexler's 87 season, they are similar to harden, except drexler is a better rebounder

Clyde's best season, he was averaging 27 points, Harden is averaging about 26, they both have decent steals/assists also

    both are professionals

He was always awesome until his ****-eating grin after game 5 in Utah in 1998, a full six quarters of quit by our team after Barkley went down.
