It occurred at 3:32 in Q4 with the Rockets up 75-74. It looked like a 3 to me. I had the TNT feed and neither Albert, Fratello or Van Gundy mentioned it. The shot was surely not the "two feet inside the line" that started this thread. The closest official was about 8 feet away Kobe and statrs to raise his arm but TNT doesn't show it completely. I think we may be reaching on this one.
Just watched it on tape (Fox Sports West feed). It was clearly a 3, its just that Kobe landed 2 feet inside the arc after the shot.
Francis double dribbles all the time. That hesistation move sure doesn't look legal... but then again... all the great ones get away with that. I did hear Phil Jackson was yapping about it tho'.
It's not just this season. It's been a long time. And yes, the only thing they do is to fine the complainers. They are pretty defensive when it comes to whistle-blowing against the Whistle-blowers (if you know what I mean ). It's become such a distraction. And it's come to a point the game is at risk of losing its credibility. I know it's not easy to officiate an NBA game. But a business that command as much money as the NBA, it's really shameful that the officiating is so devoid of professionalism. I think they should get the best people to do the job. Pay them big money. Make the job meritorious. Setup a review board to hold the official accountable. They need to do something to fix it quick. That said, I don't think officiating was the reason we lost last night.
Heaven forbid refs get merit- or incentive-based contracts. Then they'd have to actually earn their pay.
I love the Rox but.....they should have never been in a situation that that point would have made a dif. I saw that 2...I think...I was kinda drunk. Thought it was just my intoxication spitting at me
that was without a doubt a two-pointer. when i first saw it, he was clearly on the line, but they showed no replay at all for it.... such bad officiating that entire game...
