Does anybody have any, and do they actually seem to work for you?

I have a few stupid things I do when the game is on (I'll switch viewing positions, turn the TV on and off, one channel will bring me more luck than another, etc).

I know mine are dumb and inconsistent, but I have noticed one that works against me every single time. I notice that the Rockets always lose when I don't go to church......

Well, the Rockets used to lose most times when I watched them, now they lose whenever I don't watch them...I guess suicide is the only option...

    good bye, cruel world!

my superstition was watching the rockets with a stuffed animal i thought that was lucky.. now its missing an arm from last year. but my superstition on basketball is stepping on the court with my right foot first.

Wow, you are my brother for eternity. I got dumb superstition just like you. I switch channels and changing viewing positions as well. And you know what? Never trust them. None of them is 100%, and they don't matter. Just relax and watch the game. I know it's hard once you get hooked and want to win so bad, just like myself.

Have the fiancee rub hot oil all over me, especially when they're losing. God what a pointless thread.

I have a certain viewing position where I prop up my feet on the table and put my hands on my stomach. And I must click on the channel the rockets are playing on twice (For instance, I click 51 and 51). And the volume bar has to be at the 5th bar. Plus the radio has got to be on 610 for those exciting plays.

Lately, it hasn't worked...so I need some new superstitions.

If i have to piss and the Rockets are playing good I'll hold it untill as long as they keep playing good...but then of course if they start playing poorly again i think its because i may have held it too long.

it has to be that same feeling Rudy gets when he is thinking " ok, should i milk the subs for a little while longer, or should I go ahead and put the starters back in" I get that same feeling of indecision when it comes whether i should take a piss or not.

The flu must be getting the best of me, because I have been laughing so hard my eyes are tearing up. I was so pissed off after last nights game, not only losing (and losing a game that was won IN LA AGAINST LAL and knowing they have an even tougher game tonight) but for having stayed up so late to see them blow the game.

Today (after losing chow a few times) I now see at least the slight glimmer of hope in how well Yao played. And that despite the fact that everyone else (save MoT in spurts) played like crap the whole game they almost pulled it out.

The Sportsguy wrote a column on this last week on ESPN Page 2. Lastnight, I actually wouldn't watch the WB broadcast because I thought they were playing better when I watched TNT.
