If anyone was wondering, watching the rox lose live in person is just as excruciating as watching them lose on TV. Especially with a zillion Faker fans taunting you in the parking lot....I'm 0-2 watching the Rox at Staples this year. The other a 1 point loss to the lowly Clipps

Poor Ming, the first foul out in NBA.

CP was coming to comfort him.

Thanks for the good fight. I'll be rooting for the Rockets when they visit the Knicks next week. As much as I hate the Knicks, I imagine getting taunts from the Fakers fans is worse because a lot of Fakers fans are well...fake.

We lost the game because of lousy perimeter shooting, plain and simple. We got good looks, we just couldn't put them down. The only reason we were in the game was because the Lakers were horrible too (besides Kobe).

Yao definitely made some crucial mistakes at the closing moments of 1st OT. It's not a knock on him since he pretty much carried the team in the 1st OT. He could have played much better though. I think it was just rookie mistakes and he would pace himself much better in the future.

What really upset me is the team's performance in the 2nd OT. Yes, we lost our big inside presence but neither does LA. The team just gave up, especially Francis. He couldn't make a layup and instead of getting back to defend, he just sat there pouting. It's one thing to have a rookie making huge impact on a team, it's another to have a team depends on a rookie in clutch situation. Props to Yao and shame on the rest of the team.

This was a great game, seriously. We couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, and losing hurts, but our decisions, our efforts to work the ball inside, and our defensive intensity all showed major improvement. I don't think we'll make the playoffs, but if this style of play keeps up, I'm tremendously heartened about the direction of the team and its future.

Dream has been called for hooking on that same offensive move many times in his career.

Yao wasn't the only reason we lost the game but those mistakes, irregardless of whether the offensive foul call was bad or not, came at crucial moments in the game and, had they not been called, I feel we would have won the game. I give Yao credit for keeping us in the game. One can still keep us in the game and lose the game with mistakes in crucial moments. The team has to keep mistakes to a minimum in crunch time. Otherwise, we lose.

So, you don't agree...big whoop. Yao is human and can make mistakes. I don't hold it against him. All of the Rockets make their share of mistakes in crunch time or otherwise. Your pretty baffled on this board sometimes? Who cares. People are entitled to their opinions on why we lost the game.

I just wish that when it gets down to the final minutes, the team would still play as a team and steve would try to stop doing it all by himself....

pass the rock till the end of the game...

You are absolutely right. That post was just me letting out some frustration. ;) But even given a chance, Yao won't shoot 40 times a game. :(

Anyway, what a terrible way to lose. I guess I should expect this kind of horrendous perimeter shooting from Rox. This team needs some serious re-tooling and I need to re-adjust my expectation big time. We are on the express elevator to Hell.

You read my mind. Last year's team was all Franchise and Cat. Now they are forced to look inside constantly. That's a pretty drastic change for both of them. But I did notice a definite effort recently on Steve's part to feed the big fella as much as he can. I wonder if this style of play is hurting SF's rhythm.

Yao came in last 7min. in the 4th quarter, It really frustrate me because we have the mis-match, Shaq was out and we didn't take advantage of it. If I was the Rudy I'll put Cato together with Yao the whole 4th quarter because Cato can run and play D, also I like the bench players performance. I could have kept Hawkins in there instead of Mobley. Rudy what's going on man? do you really knows Basketball?

I can never figure out how Madsen managed to get this gig with the Lakers. He is about as worthless a scrub as you can find.

From one slow White guy to another, I am happy for you, Madsen. BTW, I wonder who Madsen had to sleep with to get that job? :p
