Not going to happen. Kobe is retiring soon. LA is not going to wander in the wilderness or tank. They have Dwight in their plans as their next tentpole.

    Redick isn't a PG.

    He also proposed

    Howard for Bosh
Howard, Sacre for Horford, Petro, Tolliver
Howard, Duhon, Ebanks for Collison, Kaman, Mayo, Marion
Howard, Nash for Garnett, Terry, Rondo
    Howard, Duhon for Lopez, Humphries
Howard, Duhon for Bledsoe, Butler, Jordan
Howard, Ebanks, Jamison for Asik, Delfino, Douglas, Morris
    Keep Howard

Great trade, but I think the major hole is Gasol. Just seems like he is not going to fit into D'atoni's system.

Does a Smith/Gasol make tons of sense? Yes. Will they do it? I doubt it.

    Solid question...

Unless we are getting picks in the deal, why do we drop our pants for the Jazz and Blazers. (two teams fighting us for the 7 and 8 spot of the playoffs)

The Jazz lose their best player to get some bench guys. I think the secret plan behind that trade was to knock the Jazz out of the race. :)

Our team doesn't need a PG with harden, and even parsons a little. We need someone who can guard points on D and strives on playing off ball and being a spot up shooter. Passing and ball handling will be in harden, parsons and delfino's hand if we keep them and acquire that type of PG.

BETTER 3-TEAM DEAL & STILL BENEFICIAL TO ALL

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=b3chst7

Rockets get an up and coming young center who is a better defender and more athletic than Asik and a throw in player at their position of need that at the very least has some experience. All this with only giving up Asik and still have pieces for additional moves.

Lakers get a solid defensive anchor and a mega scoring punch from the bench to help the weak rotation.

Bucks get a super star which makes them serious contenders in the east. Problem is I don't think he would resign there so that trashes this trade all because he is a lil b****. Too bad because Howard and Jennings would be a good pairing.

^^^^^^I had a stupid brain fart here. lol Why would the Lakers prefer Asik over Sanders and Gooden? They wouldn't! Oh well...I just want Sanders on our team so bad, but we don't really have anything the bucks want or need for their team.

My personal wish list would be:
    Larry Sanders at the 5
    Ryan Anderson at the 4
    Danny Granger at the 3
Harden is good at the 2
& Steve Nash type at the 1

    Put Horford at the 4
Lakers get a bunch of expiring and some prospects
Atl gets quality guys on the cheap, maintains its cap flexibility this summer, possibility to keep Pau long term on the cheap(er) than trying to sign him.

How about we trade McHale for D'antoni

    Win win for both teams

McHale can figure out how to use D12 and Gasol in the post whilst D'antoni can play small ball in houston!

What's going to be real interesting to see is if about a week before the trade deadline Morey starts making some minors deals like say Patrick Patterson for JJ Reddick or something similar.

The point being if it looks like the Lakers might move Dwight, I would assume Morey would need to make a pre move or two in order to really make the deal work and that him and the lakers are agreeing could work.

And yes, if the Lakers do decide for some crazy reason to move him instead or risking him leaving for less money in the Summer, Asik is a nice consolation prize. A. He would fill their need for defense and rebounding better than ANY other available player in the NBA. B. he gives them much better financial flexibility in the future to make roster changes unlike Brook Lopez and C. He has great health again... Unlike Brook Lopez.

Trading w Houston with Asik as the main centerpiece in the deal isn't that bad for the Lakers and I don't see why anyone would think otherwise given the circumstances the Lakers might see themselves in if Dwight communicates to them that leaving for Dallas or Atlanta are his preferred choices this Summer.

    Houston out - asik/ppat/td/parsons/smith/morris/ny2nd/ny2nd/lac2nd
    Houston in - dwight/morris/jameson/tucker

    Lakers out - dwight/pau/morris/jameson
    Lakers in - zbo/asik/wesJohnson/ppat/td/phoenix1st/phoenix2nd/ny2nd/lac2nd

    Memphis out - zbo/gay
    Memphis in - gortat/pau/parsons/gregSmith/ny2nd

    Phoenix out - gortat/wesJohnson/tucker/1st/2nd
    Phoenix in - gay/morris

Houston does it for dwight... duh... get rid of all quality bench and role players for scraps but its worth it...

Lakers do it ouot of fear from dwight leaving and moving on from pau... get an all-star in zbo along with a solid twin towers with asik added... they also get 6.4 expiring in wes and td plus they shed 5.2 in this trade... making it an 11.6mill is lux tax savings... solid bench player in ppat and a slew of 2nd rders and a first to get back some picks they lost for nash and dwight...

Memphis does it to make the gasol brothers and shed salary... they gain gortat who makes thier 3-man FC fantastic, and solid solid cheap cheap role players, getting and keeping them away from lux tax... gain a 2nd also...

Phoenix cashes in on and gets gay who they want and get value for gortat... they also get the morris brothers...

    Thoughts?
