This team sans Harden would be one of the worst in the league, so in the long run he has helped the team greatly.
Steph Curry is one of the more unique guards in the league at the moment. Once he approaches that 3-point line, if there's ever a sliver of light he just shoots it. Non-stop chucker, doesn't matter what the shot-clock is. But it's hilarious because it works, he's got aim-bot on and everyone is so fixated on trying to guard him and prevent him from shooting that it leaves wide open looks and spacing for all of his teammates.
In the short run he has definitely helped the team - like the first 30 games. Teams are on to the Rockets fast break and Harden ISO now. So in the long run the team is in trouble unless something changes. Harden is a great talent offensively and if used correctly is a perenial all-star and possible MVP. However and no criticism of him he should not be the team's playmaker. His 7 turnovers last game and low seasonal assists to turnover ratio is proof of that. McHale for some bizzare reason has him running the offense in place of his PG's (Lin, Beverly and TD) and has others trying to run the offense as well. Is there any wonder they lead the league in turnover's?
Just telling it like it is. harden's been playing like cr** lately - tell me that's not so. Lot's of people have also and our interior defense is terrible.
Harden may not be playing his best basketball right now, you are correct there, but then again, noone on the team has been playing particularly well. This does not take away from the fact that James is having an All-Star calibre season.
Listening to you all and thinking about it more he probably does deserve to be an All Star. I guess I'm just concerned about the last 10 games and not seeing a bright future if things don't change. I knew I'd get a lot of flack by my stance but I think an honest and objective discussion is valuable.
Whats all this talk about congratulating harden? Houston has its first allstar since yao n tracy and all y'all have to say is " congrats dude " let me be the first to handle this like a true rockets fan.... WE GOT AN ALLSTAR WE GOT AN ALLSTAR WE GOT AN ALLSTAR!!!!! IN UR FACE TEAMS WITH NO ALLSTARS!! ROCKETTSSSSSS!!! Lol.
Yea he did but the West already had 3 reserved guards who are better than he is... Though I much rather have Curry than Parker but that's a tough choice.
