... with what appears to be a fancy medical term for "shin splints"... http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2002/1106/1457113.html
its about friggin time. jason collier's increased minutes (when cato was put on the injured list) were damn near about to scare me.
I'd love to make a million a year for shin splints and having an NBA franchise helping em stay healthy, lol.
"medial tibial periostitis " - Shin splints? I really don't know. But I love how these injuries just seem to pop up at the right time on the right people. Of course at this point in the season, everyone has bumps, bruises or big toe injuries I wish the NBA would just go to an "inactive roster" status for these guys. But anyway, welcome back Mr. Rice!!!!!! Your veteran leadership on the floor has been missed. So has your outside shot. So I hope you found that too as you healed up.
Hmmm. Rice activated two days before the trading deadline... Does anyone know if you have to be on the active roster to be traded and what timetable Rice's original return was scheduled for? Just curious.
you do not have to be on the active roster to be traded. Look at hekeem, he's basically retired and hasnt played all season and yet he was being shopped around earlier this year.
I think it would have been better to hav Collier active than Nachbar. Since it looks likr he's squeezed out bu numbers. why not place Nachbar down with Maddox. If in game injury occurs to Cato, then we have no backup center for the most part.
I get your point that Collier makes it into the game more than Nachbar does and he gives us 3rd center and your conclusion that he is thus more valuable than Nachbar on the active roster. However, I think Rudy likes Nachbar on the roster so he can get him into the game whenever the right situation presents itself. Nachbar is part of the future and Rudy wants to bring him along. On the other hand, I do not believe that Collier has a future with this team. I doubt they will make an effort to sign Collier after this season. So unless you think you are going to really need him, it is best to stash him on the injured list. Besides, with no Shaq, Yao and Cato shall do fine, even if one had foul trouble or something that kept him from playing up to par. With Phoenix and Dallas up next, Taylor and/or Griffin could fill in as the 3rd center for short periods if the need so arises.
