I hope Morey dont get Gasol cause I think hes gonna act like Lamar Odom and be a baby about it and just suck the rest of the season cause his feelings were hurt ..
Only way to get him is in a 3 team deal. Lakers get Josh Smith, Hawks get Patrick Patterson, Terrence Jones and 1st round pick and we get Gasol. But Morey should stay away from this though.
There are 2 ways to go with this: Win now or rebuild. They were hoping for both but it doesn't look like that is happening so you have to break this down. Rebuild. Howard is a great piece to rebuild around if healthy. However it would probably be a couple of years before the Lakers become his team. Would he be happy riding in the backseat for a couple of years? And he'll be pushing 30+ once he takes the wheel. Would he be healthy enough to be the foundation of a reload? Pau has little value to bring them the pieces they need to turn this around and Lakers fans dont want to see Kobe's golden years spent like this. Win now. That is what this team was supposed to do but it has failed miserably. It's not Howard's fault but if you want to win now I think Howard is the logical choice to go. He will bring them more value than anything they have. They can put Pau back at the C and use the pieces from trading Howard to fill in some serious holes that fit Mickey D's system and giving them a bench which they really need. They can make one more run and try rebuilding with 14 cap money. This team with this coach is going to struggle to play 500 ball which isn't want the Lakers fans want to see or are used to no matter who's names are on the back of the jerseys. Someone has to go. They already fired the coach. Kobe and Nash aren't going anywhere. They have no picks. Besides Howard and to a much lesser degree Pau, the rest of the team won't get jack and they need help bad.
YES!!! I'm assuming you when to espn trade machine. I just guessed and wondered how would Morey do a deal to get Gasol if wanted to. Thank god Gasol's price is high.
The July amnesty window doesn't apply to this year. The amnesty would apply to NEXT year. They're stuck paying the tax for Gasol this year unless he's traded in the next month. And in July, while they COULD amnesty him, I don't see it as likely because there will be teams willing to trade for him at that point.
Actually, it's not far off from potentially working, cap-wise. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=7559925&postcount=66
Forget Dwight Howard and his bad back. Morey should save his cap room for a 2014 run at Lebron James.
Lin contract not as bigh as gasol. beside the lakers need young legs. I think the lakers will if the rox interested. haha
AHA! Yes indeed. So this season they're stuck trying to trade him and dump as much salary as they can. Considering the price Memphis just paid for a salary dump, I wonder what it will cost LA?
Milwaukee have had their eyes out for a franchise star for a while now, and don't think that highly of Ilyasova. At least their previous coach certainly didn't. If they had the opportunity to acquire someone like Gasol, I could see them doing it. But I doubt the Lakers accept Ilyasova because he's on something like a 4 year $10M per year salary.
And why the F would the Rockets do that trade? It's hilarious how every F-ing trade idea involving the Lakers always makes them a vastly better team at the expense of everyone else.
