If you were GM, Brand or Miller from Clips for Cat?

Now if you were the Rockets GM and the Clips told you that you could have Brand or Miller for Cuttino- who would you take?

If you take Brand, then you get the power forward you always wanted. Someone to pound the boards with Yao. The best offensive rebounder in the league. Also having a power forward is a must in this league to win the championship (Kings, Spurs, Mavs, and in my opionion to beat the Lakers in a 7 game series you need a great power forward since that is their Achilles heel). However, you still have Francis at the point, who still might think of shoot before pass first- thus wasting Brand's talents as well as Yao's.

If you take Miller, then you get the point gaurd the Rockets deperately need right now. A point gaurd who passes first before shoots. Who would get Yao more involved in the offence. Would allow Francis to play shooting gaurd, probably his best position. However, Miller is an offensive liability at times. Also we would have a small backcourt (not that we don't already have a small backcourt).

I would take brand. Because it is harder to find good big men. There are alot of small guys who can play ball.

This should be locked because many recent threads have covered it.

I agree. By the way, who says we "desperately" need a PG? That's a problem the Knicks and the Heat have. We already have a PG.

James 23, forget the money issue (I know this does not sound realistic) about MoT and Cato. I just want to see everyones opinion of where they think the direction our team should go?

Bruising powerforward brings points and boards vs. a point gaurd who give us offensive cohesion

The trade threads will decrease, but won't end. After we're done hearing about possible trades for this year, I'm sure plenty of people will have trades that are going to happen next year.

If I were a GM, money issue is the 1st thing I would think about, I couldn't forget it.

The Clippers would be totally insane to deal either Brand or Miller for Mobley. mobley isnt half the player either of those guys are.

    wake up bud

While no one has ever gone broke by under-estimating the intelligence of the Clippers front office, but if they were willing to take Cuttino Mobley straight up for Elton Brand, then that would set an absolute new standard for stupidity...

If the Rockets could honestly get Brand for Mobley, they would have pulled the trigger on that trade yesterday!!!

I mean, who comes up with these ideas????

    I'll just play along here...

So, yeah, if we could trade Griffin and Rice for either Kevin Garnett or Dirk Nowitzki, who would you take???

I'd take Brand. I hate Andre Miller, as you can see with the Clipps record, he isnt all that he was made up to be.

well both are free agents after this season right?

if so, then both are going to be asking for the max.

    we can't afford it.

People please get real. Nobody would take Mobley straight up for Brand or Miller. Clippers GM isn't stupid (as some fatansy trade ideas here). Actually you could argue that he's one of the best in the business. If you rate Brand and Miller highly, you could probably say he did 2 of best trades in recent NBA history by getting Brand for a highschooler and Miller for one of the most overrated players in the league in Miles. Maggette's also a good signing. Their owner's unwillingness to sign FAs doesn't equal to their GM's intelligence.

Good point, took him a long time to figure out what he was going to say for his 6th post.

Cuttino scores about 19 ppg, gets about---what?---4 boards and 3 assists, and already is locked into a medium-sized contract. And he's good buds with Lamar Odom, so Lamar might be convinved to stay if Cat is there. Maybe.

And Dre has not played well this year (but I think there are extenuating circumstances).

So I don't think a swap of the two is so far-fetched. Throw in a 2nd rounder if you must.

Not that it's gonna happen anyway.

and after that: wow this ..... is real good, why haven't we traded fo him before the trade deadline.
after that: who wil we trade for in this of season?
the trade threads wil never die, never, like the Jazz

Either he's not found his voice or he is acutely aware of the rough newbie bashing that goes on here.
