Its mostly the coach IMO. I know he cant make shots for them but the wolves didnt even have their coach or anything to play for and THE GLIDES homie Porter had them ready to play.
And that's the key. It doesn't matter that the Rockets are young. You still have to prepare your players and McHale didn't while Terry Porter did.
Knowing Morey's love for efficiency, he would mostly likely use the tank to blow up the team, killing two birds with one stone.
Last year when this happened, everyone thought it was because of all the trade talk and guys being unsure about their future with the Rockets. I sincerely hope it doesn't take until the trade deadline for us to start playing relaxed and winning again.
We may be in stealth tank mode right now. I think Morey and Le$ saw a glimpse of what we could at our peak and decided we need to stink it up a bit and get a top 5 draft pick.
Your argument makes no sense. How did you come to the conclusion that I am a MOF out of my entire post? How did you come to the conclusion that I believe, or even know for that matter what a "Chris Finch offense" is? The fact of the matter is that Les Alexander is in the business of making money. NBA teams that are competitive brings in crowds, which brings in money. If he were to allow Morey and McHale to put out a poor product that was not competitive, than he will end up losing money. Thus following that logic, if Morey and McHale were to purposely put out a poor product, than they would more than likely be fired because Les is about making that money. Hence begging them to "tank" is foolish because I am pretty sure neither Morey or McHale want to be out of a job. BTW, I remember the Rockets ball before the championship years when Don Cheney was the head coach, and Sleepy Floyd in the backcourt. I was raised to be a Rockets fan, and I have always represent whether they are doing well or not. that is what real fans do, they don't beg for their team to suck so that they can have more lottery balls every time the team goes on a freaking losing streak . . . .
I honestly think that this roster and team is just about where Morey's expectation is; being the youngest team and only having one star player.
Hey, on the bright side, at least we won't get the 14th pick this year, because if we did that would mean we're average. right?
Nice one. This team has been blown up every year with the same mediocre results. Who is really responsible for all this mediocrity? I would venture to guess that everyone is responsible, including the mascot and waterboys, but nothing is Morey's fault.
Pretty ****ty thread from an otherwise good poster. I think everyone has been fooled (including myself) by the Rockets outstanding play a couple of weeks ago. I think they are just now falling back down to earth. "They are who we thought they were and we let them off the hook."
It's ground hog day on Clutchfans again. We're on a losing streak so every piece on our roster suddenly has no intrinsic value to other teams, apparently.... seems logical.
Did they slip something in the Gatorade to make everyone cross-eyed so they turn the ball over and miss open shots?
And unfortunately the one consistent thing between this year and last year's losing streak is the coach.
LOL it always seems to be a critical time for Morey. Seems the forum is filled with people who keep over-reacting no matter what. Let's get this straight, it doesn't matter what happens the season is already a success, because we landed our franchise star. You have people here bashing morey and talking about #mediocrity, but the fact is while the results are the same, the Rockets have gotten younger and acquired better talent in the process. The team is on pace for another 14th pick finish, so what? Last year the 0.500 win team was headlined by 29 yr old Kevin Martin, 31 yr old Scola and 27 year old Courtney Lee, now the 0.500 team is led by 23 year old Harden, 23 year old Lin and 24 year old Parsons. The age and experience gap between the two rosters are huge, yet this team is playing as good last year's, if 0.500 ball is the basement of the youngest team in the league then obviously Morey has done a great job. To put this in context, OKC spent 6 years in lottery after they drafted Durant, and they suddenly went from getting Cole Aldrich with the 10th pick to making the WCF the next year. To put it simply, this team might be closer to contending than you think. Let's also not forget that the Rox play in the West and in one of the toughest divisions in the league. If they had been in the East we'd be just behind Miami by now, what are we again against the East, 11-3?
What a joke after all, after this crazy poor run to play PPat and Morris again! McHale probably think all other GM's in the league are so stupid after that and would accept any trade including this girls who can't play even average basketball. 6 points and 6 rebounds both! in 30 minutes. We will continue to lose games if these donkey should play like that or there will be no changes in PF spot
Bad chemistry and it starts with the coach, they don't play hard for him at all, only beverly and parsons/sometimes... Harden freelances a lot and lin well lin is just there a lot...
