Um yeah, I open up My computer in Windows and I dont see either my DVD Rom or CDRW drives listed. When I try and play a CD it doesnt read.

On top of that my CDRW drive wont even open. DVD Rom does open.

The only repair I made was installing a second fan for my AMD Slot A Processor last week.

right click on my computer, select properties, hardware tab, then click on device manager. Is DVD/CDRom drives with your drive showing up? If it isn't, click the DVD/CDROm and there will be an option to scan for hardware changes, it's an icon with a computer and a magnify glass on top. Post what happens

Hmm... no actual CD rom drives or DVD/CD rom drives? If that's what you mean, and it isn't what your actual drive is, try updating your drive. Highlight the actual hardware, and next to scan for changes will be an update driver icon. If that doesn't work, go to the hardware tab in properties and goto add hardware wizard. Should be able to reinstall it there if you have too. Also, you might just have knocked loose the actual connecter to the drive when you installed your fan`.

I think you knocked loose the IDE cable from your drive or from the motherboard controller.
