No doubt. Harper is almost to the point of being untolerable. Same goes for the Celtics announcers who feel Boston can do no wrong.
I hate the spurs because I want Tim Duncan on my team. Nothing personal. Its just that I feel that one of the best players in the world is on a team that is a big rival to my team. Kinda like jealousy.
David Robinson is a washed up, smack-shooting, no-smack-talking, mirror-flexing to find a vein, ripple-swilling, pinto-driving to save drug cash, 2$ w**** seeking, death cult meeting attending, antichrist worshipping, peace-rally attending, goat loving naval graduate. So there.
Beat me to it. This is my reason. I completely resented having to spend my year in Austin -- 1993 -- having to actually argue with Spurs fans that Hakeem was better. There never was a comparison -- it was and is ludicrous.
I love Duncan. I can't stand the little Mermaid. I've met Drob and he seemed to be a condescending punk which is the same impression Shaq has of him. He acts like he has integrity and cares only about the game and then he goes out and gets fed the ball during a meaningless game so he can win the scoring championship. I respect Drob less than I do Malone. At least Malone has done something.
i absolutely agree with you about robinson, who scored 71 pts against the clippers. he also won the mvp by putting up big numbers in meaningless games.
Well, I went to college 4 years in San Anton. I hate Popovich for firing Coach Hill. That was simply rediculous. But that said, the only smack I really talk against San Anton' is just good, I-10 rivalry fun. I respect San Anton, and even like them ... as long as they're not playing the Rockets. I guess it's just easy to want to hate San Anton & Dallas because of the Texas rivalry thing. Well, I hate Dallas for a whole slew of reasons actually. But again, as long as San Anton isn't playing the Rockets, I have no ill will against them.
First Stephen Jackson did play for the Spurs last year and not New Jersey........ Second David Robinson is one of the nicest guys in the NBA to meet....Third David Robinson had surgery the year we got Duncan. We didn't even have the best shot at Duncan.... Boston did. Spurs beat Boston twice that year. If your going to tank why beat Boston? Sean Elliott also had surgery.......... so did Person....... and aj. Maybe David could have come back with 10 games left.......... but why? The future of David was more important. They didn't want a Grant Hill Case.
david could have come back long before 10 games left in the season. he was absolutely capable of it. this was accoriding to a spurs player who, yes, was on the team at the time.
OK, verse, source that please. This crap about the Spurs "tanking" that season is ridiculous!! The Spurs didn't have the most lottery balls - Boston did - and they had another teams pick as well, giving them the first & third most chances of landing Duncan. The Spurs "tanked"? Really!! Wasted an entire in-his-prime hall of famer's season for a 16% chance of getting Duncan??!!! You realize the consolation prize that year was Keith Freaking Van-Horn, right??? Or do you think Stern was in on it?? REALLY wanted the smallest market in the league to get that future superstar!! As for '95, the Spurs won 5 of 6 from the Rockets that year, Olajuwon was hurt for some games, and the Rox finished 14 games behind the Spurs, who finished with a 62-0 record. People who say they won alot of meaningless games, obviously, they won alot of games period; but doesn't the MVP award usually go to a player on a team that won alot of games? Not to many 6 seeds winning MVP's if my memory serves me correct. As for Olajuwon, you people are certainly looking at his career with Rose colored glasses. Yes, in the mid nineties he was dominant, but that followed the early nineties where it was widely reported he FAKED injuries to avoid playing, & that the Rockets SERIOUSLY considered trading him!! Overall regular season career numbers are very similar for Hakeem and Robinson, with the difference in there games becoming pronounced in the playoffs. It is there that Hakeem distinguished himself, and I know of few Spurs fans who would argue that Hakeem ranks above David in the echelons of great centers. But David certainly belongs there. I don't hate the Rockets now. I used to, when it mattered.
101 6 7, the source was dominique wilkins. he told me straight up that dave was "ok, and could play".
oh....and if you make the playoffs there is NO chance of getting duncan. being in the lotto gives you a chance at him... btw, keith van horn was not the kvh that we know today. at that point, it was 100% speculation that he could be the next great white boy (bird, etc.). so saying he was a consolation prize isn't quite as ludicrous as it sounds now that we know he sucks more than vanessa del rio.
We don't hate the Spurs!!! We are just jealous. I WOULD LOVE DUNCAN man. We do not hate at all. Of course, we want our team to win. Spurs are not the most hated. My list. 1. Utah Jazz 2. Pheonix Suns They are the only teams that I HATE. The other teams...I just don't like them when they beat the Rockets.
speak for your self. I doubt you'll find much of the "we" to support you. Spurs suck. Robinson is a puss. Spurs did tank. Gino is far far away from being the best of this class. booooooo. *
Duncan is the best player in the game, but the rest are nothing but a bunch of p*****s. David Robinson "aka the Mermaid" did sit out and they did tank. They will always be a freakin astersik champions. Ginobilli or whatever the hell his name is is the most overrated b*stard in the league. Tony "Jesus" Parker is no where close to being as good as he is made out to be. Jackson talks all this trash when the truth is that he would be just another NBDL player with Tim. **** Spers. **** their fans. And especially **** their homerific announcers.
