damn, poor stevie, dude cant get away with anything. every word of his is analyzed to death. He actually said "those people dont understand what it means to be a point guard in this day and age" which i think meant those fans.
Legler was one of the playmakers for the then Washington Bullets. Yes! he was a playmaker indeed in the form of Price (not a pure point) whose specialty was the longe range shot. Go back and you will see that I used the word "Playmaker". Memphis Do you have TV/Cable? When did Greg Anthony EVER critisize SF? When?
u know its darn right scary how differently u and i saw the last few games rockets-r-us i mean, i went to games also, so its hard to believe the extreme differences. You sure u didnt have a blindfold on???? And besides, i mentioned a few basketball takes on the issue, which u conveniently decided not to respond to.
Like heypartner said...chill out...isn't it nap time for you or something? Mommy hasn't changed your diaper yet?
It's not often I come to the defense of Steve. But I'm not quite sure what you find wrong with the statemts above. The Laker game was played within the "flow of the offense." I don't see what the problem is with that game. Steve took shots when he was open, and pass when he was not. By the way, the reason that Steve shoots in Fishers face is because Fish has no vertical lift (can't get a hand up). So, Francis will shoot in Fishers face all day long. The Lakers think that Fish will have the same affect on Francis that he does on Iverson. Wrong! Watch the next game. When Fish is on Francis, Francis will take it to him. Forget about Kobe on Francis. It wont happen, unless Kobe wants to get crossed-over. If Francis didn't have 11 assist, I would have complained. Francis needs to keep his turnovers down (7), as well all know.
This was being discussed here : http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=52015 Maybe we should have a petition to boot users that don't "get it" as in, can't look to see if a thread about what they're about to start a thread about already exists. The irony of the whole thing is the guy that starts this thread talks about Steve's immaturity and then starts an exclamation point war.
Holy crap, Does this remind anybody of all the bs about Steve demanding that the Rockets draft Wilcox and that he'd demand to be traded if the Rockets drafted Yao? Yeah, it was total BS. People with active imaginations reading between the lines are a bad thing, especially if they forget to put their glasses on when they do it. By the way, can we please, I mean I am begging everyone to just please stop with the "getting it" posts and threads. This phrase is starting to get too ambigous. It's like a wild card. Mobley and Mooch playing after practice in their towels, they don't "get it." Rudy not being strict, he doesn't "get it." Francis doesn't "get it" (passing). Boki doesn't "get it," (playing time). What does Ming get, besides pushed around under the basket? What does Mo not "get", besides high. I'll tell you who doesn't "get it," fair weather fans who love to complain about all the negative stuff, never mention the positives, "invent" controversy, and show bias in their criticism.
I never once thought of that. When I heard him make the quote my jaw just dropped to the floor. If he was talking about Tim Legler then I think it was a cool quote. Screw the media. I think that point gets over looked way to often by almost everyone including me. With Hakeem, Moses and all of the other great centers another player might try to cheat a little to help the defender deny those guys the ball but they could not completely sell out to double and sometimes tripple team them before they even received the pass. With Yao Ming it is very common for Ming's defender to front him while another defender comes from the weakside completely ignoring his own man in order to prevent the lob pass. It is also very common for Yao Ming's defender to stay behind him and try to drive him out of the post while the defending guard drops off his man to try and deny Yao Ming the pass. I believe the both of these tactics would have recieved an illegal defense in the old rules and made the inlet pass much easier. Imaging fronting a 7'5" player with no weakside help...that is almost suicide.
Great, Steve is only motivated by ESPN commentators. It's so sad that he pays more attention to guys like Legler than Rudy T. You suck Steve.
Oski, post of the day for sure!! crash, don't give me credit for Tim Legler, Texas Stokes nailed it first. verse, that's pretty damn funny. btw: Colin Pine is living with Yao and his moms, Colin ain't "getting it" either...but who is so surprised.
What would you all say if you were asked that question? And you know...he was facing SHAQ. But yeah...he usually doesn't get the ball that much. But there are many different reasons. I'm sure we are much more mature than him.
Guys, Just a quick apology for the exclamation point thing. It was pretty infantile. I got caught up by Heyp attacking my use of puncutation. I will exercise restraint in the future.
