I didn't like "Wangsta" because so many people use it now or listen to it too much. He was better off as an underground rapper and dissin other rappers.
What exactly does wanksta mean? is used in a bad way? saw on muchmusic tv 50 cent was on there and someone interviewing him asked who is the top wanksta right now and he said Ja Rule, not sure why i watched it, only watched it for like 1 minute.
It's true, Ja-Rule sucks. Jay-Z has great production but no real rhyme skills. It's Nas, 50, Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes man. To kick it up a notch old school-style, thrown in some KRS One, Just-Ice and Schooly D.
50's lyrical talent is incredible. He is a little too into gunfire, but its all good. My Favorite tracks - 4.) Many Men ("Now I know I'm here for a real reason, cause he got hit like I got hit, but he ain't ****in breathin") 6.) High All The Time ("If David can Ball against Goliath with a stone, I can go against Nas and Jigga both for the throne') 14.) 21 Questions (I love you like a fat kid love cake) Good Tracks 2.) What up Gangsta (Dre showcases his supreme talent) 3.) Patiently Waiting (Em just fuels the fire on this one) 5.) In Da Club (Really not to high on this song, but it's a winner) 8.) If I Can't (Dre's beats again make anything sound great) 9.) Bloodhound (Its bangin) 10.) Back Down (Just for the ending) 15.) Don't Push Me (Lloyd Banks may be more talented than even 50) 17.) Wanksta (Its all about the beat) 19.) Life on the Line (Killer Base)
Man, I scoured Houston for this album today. Best Buy and Soundwaves were completely out. The sales guy at BB said that they had recieved 270 copies of Get Rich Quick, and sold out within 3 hours. On Westheimer, I made a comment on how lucky I was to have the change to procure a copy. The cashier said "Yeah man, lucky you came to this location. The other Soundwaves had 400 units, all gone now." This album is doin' GOOD.
When was Ja with the Roc? I didnt think "Vinni Vetti Vecci" was done on that label. As for the Roc after Jay-z they're very weak, and even his last album wasnt up to par as compared with some of his others. They've tried to gain some credibility by signing Cam'ron, Twista, and M.O.P, which is my favorite hardcore rap group. "How about some Hardcore? Yeah we like it RAW!!!!" Sorry bout that. I just had a flashback to '93.
i don't have the album but "in da club" is friggin awesome. somehow i hadn't heard it until yesterday (although not being able to get clear reception on 104.3 in austin probably has something to do with that) but i've probably listened to it about 30 times since yesterday. and man it must be nice having dre and em behind you.
There are many reasons to dislike Jay-Z, rhyme skills is not one of them. "you ain't seen money in your life, when it comes to this cheese yall like three blind mice"
I agree, Lloyd banks has much talent. Give Dre, and Em time and Banks will be hotter than 50 is right now. 50's album is definately fire though.
Nelly has a hit song about buying shoes. That pretty much disqualifies him from being taken seriously as hiphop correct? Anyways, the new 50 cent album is good stuff. First rap album I've bought since Scarface-The Fix
50 Cent is VERY POPULAR. Maybe because of Eminem? Well I think his songs are pretty good. BUT NO ONE LIKES WEST COAST RAPPERS? Of course I like local people.
