They were doing a trade him or keep him deal on Sportscenter with guys who are currently on the block. Aldridge said that the Rockets should and probably will keep him, but they're currently listening to offers. First time I'd heard him being on the block outside of cc.net. I guess there is hope that he can get something for him by the 20th.

God I hope so. Good thing the Rockets aren't shy about trading.

I think you're right. This board probably starts tons of rumors.

Or Maybe Rudy realizes that Cuttino no longer fits in with the new order, and will try to move him while his value is still high...ala Kenny Thomas.

I hope Cuttino does get moved, I think Posey is a better fit at the 2 then Cat....he hustles on Defense and is a slasher who does not need the ball.

Cat is having trouble fitting in, as his touches are WAY down.

Interesting news. DD, Posey at the 2? Didn't we already try Shandon Anderson there? If they trade Mobley, then it should be for a starting two.

Would Rockets improve by trading Cat and not moving Francis to 2?

Even then, would Rockets improve without Forward shakeup and coach change?

They have a few problems that I don't know which one is the most important problem to be fixed first. What I am afraid of is if the management takes a wrong step and further exacerbates the problem.

While I liked Cat earlier, anything to improve the team. Hopefully we can get someone who will help the team grow with killing the future cap/tax threshold. Cat needs to be in a team as a sixth man- a la Mad Max.....or be the first/second option.

After watching the Lakers-Knicks game tonight, I wish we could have Allan Houston. Here is someone who will make double-teaming of Yao an expensive proposition.

Cat + Cato for Allan Houston and Kurt Thomas.

Franics playing point guard or shooting guard has no relevance. He's still going to dominate the ball. The thing that is relevant is having a backcourt that is not redundant. If they were able to get a decent-sized shooting guard who plays defense, hits open shots consistently, and makes good decisions, then you have a more well-rounded backcourt. Which position each players is at doesn't really matter.

cuttino hustles on D every single game. i would rate him higher on perimeter D than posey. posey is a better rebounder and seems good at intercepting passes but in terms of getting right up in your guys face, keeping him in front of you and chasing them around, cuttino wins. harpring used jp one night, next night did very little against cuttino. also, cuttino can actually shoot unlike jp. and as much as people hate cat's shot selection, posey has shown himself to be little better in this department lately. he shoots ill-advised 3's quite often and after the initial honeymoon period is starting to brick like crazy it seems. cat has done nothing but take the open shots given to him for the last 3 games. he's just in a horrible slump that is beyond anything i've seen from him. perhaps he simply must have the ball to shoot well but there have been several games already this year where he was just trying to fit in and he was hitting and everything looked beautiful on O. if he's willing to fit in like the last 3 games, he will start hitting and there will be no reason to move him from the 2. i can't imagine the current slump lasts much longer.

and if you move JP to the two, who is the 3?? tmo, rice, boki?? we already can't score, now we're going to offensively downgrade the 2 and 3 while defensively downgrading the 3? and even if jp has a D advantage over cat, what's the point of replacing your second best defender with your first, not much of an upgrade. i just don't understand who people think should start for this team and why so many people act like (this is general, no long at dada) we have plenty of scorers and just need D. we're horrible at shooting.

This seems like one of those things that the first time you talk about it, had better be the time you do it.

ps, David... if you are reading this board, go **** yourself.

I think the only reason he's on the block is he's not an untouchable like Francis or Ming and he signed a very cheep contract considering he's a 20 ppg scorer.

Allan Houston has a 110 million dollar contract I believe. Nothing we offer would even come close I think. Besides just cause he scored 53 pts today doesnt mean he is worth his contract.

I wouldn't want a player who can't even hit open shots (Posey) as my shooting guard.
