I think Yao needs a special move... like so of the great players out there... For example, Olajuwon's shake, hmm... anything you can think of???

    1. jump hook like kevin willis and chris webber
    2. turnaround shot like hakeem
    3. dribbling-from-one-side-of-the paint-to-another-side shot patented by ewing
    4. mchale's up-and-under move.
    5. drop step. with one dribble to the middle before pivot and hook the defender's leg before going up. dangerous shot, high probability of being blocked, but be ready to get it back and throw it down.

You can't forget the baseline spin.

I think that that is his special move. The one where he spins baseline and blows by his defender for the fingeroll, layin, or dunk.

I'm willing to bet that Yao winds up with either a baby hook (with his height there's not much "baby" to it...), or the drop step base-line fade-away that he is consistently missing right now.

Once he muscles up a little bit and learns to keep the ball up over his head, there's no one in the league that could block it.

The spin move to the baseline is a little to easy to defense unless he also develops an alternate move across the lane to keep defenders honest!!
