    We eat fish, although we have fish as pets. We eat livestock even though we raise livestock as if they were a member of our family sometimes. I dont understand the issue here. If Cat is a delicacy in China, let them be. They arent eating your cat are they? (at least not yet :) )jk

    Yeah no the Chinese does not fully embrace it at all. There are just as many people (perhaps more) who dislike eating cats and dogs in China than people who actually do. Please make more over-generalizing comments you fat american (see what i did there).

    Oh, and I'm not over-generalizing. There are some practices that can be observed by a society like my aforementioned example of the Japanese eating live fish. No loss talking about them when you're talking about the group as a whole.

    As to the raccoon comment....I'm pretty sure in backwoods Louisiana, they eat anything that moves....

    Imagine that, people actually have different customs and norms but if they differ with the American ones, watch out because everyone needs to bow down to our ways.

    This reminds me of my post in Ray Lewis thread on the D&D board on how people got so mad at Michael Vick for animal cruelty of our favorite animal, dogs, yet turn a blind eye on how cruelly most of our meat is raised.

    Hindus and thus many people in India find cows sacred and you don't see them chastising Americans every chance they get over their food culture.
