Usually I have a good handle on what is coming out this year but not this time. Outside of Nick Cave and *supposedly* My Bloody Valentine finally releasing their third album, I do not know of any other upcoming releases.

So, if you know of some good music to be released this year (even if that means later in the year), please share in this thread.

These are some of the albums I'm looking forward to in 2013.

    Editors
    Tokyo Police Club
    Royksopp
    Toro y Moi
    Local Natives
    Foals
    Kid Cudi
    The Knife
    James Blake

There is this new collaboration album between Sun Kil Moon (Mark Kozelek) and The Album Leaf (Jimmy Lavalle) I am really excited to hear. Those are two of my most favorite acts of the past decade. It is to be out this year as well.

I still haven't compiled my best of 2012 list, partly because I couldn't figure out a clear number one album.

THERE'S A NEW MY BLOODY VALENTINE ALBUM THIS YEAR NOTHING ELSE MATTERS

well and Atoms for Peace and Arcade Fire will be cool. As will Local Natives, the Knife, and Phoenix.

Also for 2013 albums I've heard, FIDLAR is a really fun record and I'm liking II by Unknown Mortal Orchestra a lot

Does anyone know if the receiving end of sirens or at the drive in are releasing albums for the reunion?

How to Destroy Angels (Trent Reznor side project) is releasing their first full length album in March (details and video here). Trent also mentioned that a new NIN record (or at least music) should pop this year.

Also, VERY strong rumors that a new Daft Punk album is FINALLY coming.

I don't think ATDI is doing anything new. But I hope when they play together again the passion to do new music is so overwhelming that they no longer can help themselves and spontaneously create a new album on the spot.

Off the top of my head: there's a new Black Rebel Motorcycle Club album due in March. U2 is supposed to have an album this fall produced by Danger Mouse. Depeche Mode, Queens of the Stone Age, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Cloud Nothings are also on my radar..

Oh, and Mos Def and Talib Kweli's new Black Star album that has been in the works for nearly two years should be out this year (probably), (maybe), (hopefully)... well **** (doubtful).

    Come back in 3 years.

Supposedly the Strokes are or have been in the studio working on a follow-up to the last album ("Angles") and it could be released this year.

    Brightside,

How sure are you on that new Editors album?

    Dr. Dre.

Or was that the most anticipated album last year, or the year before, or 5 years ago?

Oooh - that is a must buy. Just bought the new mbv from their website and gotten through the first 2 songs - it is like Shields just picked up from where he left off with "Loveless".

Very excited about the Atoms for Peace album that is coming out later this month.
