@ LA @PHO those are the 2 biggest games and they are back-to-back on Tuesday and Wednesday. The good news is we might have GLEN RICE back. I know most of you are saying he didn't do anything or he is old, but he has that veteran leadership and playing against LA, it will be huge. Plus its one more guy of the bench. And that Laker game will be huge because if the Lakers beat New York, we will be tied for that 8th spot and whoever win that game wants it more.
If Rice plays vs LA, he will play 8 minutes, take 2 shots and miss them both, and get torched by Rick Fox for at least 3 FG's. The fact the Lakers play the Jazz in Utah the following night is far more meaningful than anything Glen Rice will contribute next week.
despite our inconsiencies, i believe the team has a good chance of winning both these games. at LA, we will come together as a team and everyone will up for the game. we will turn things around for this game and perhaps have enough left for phoenix. however we will end up losing the next couple games after that to take two steps back yet again. INCONSISTENT BASTARDS
I, for one, am very happy to see Rice come back, especially for a big game. He helps our guys keep focus. True, he's a defensive liability, but he provides good veteran leadership and isn't shy about calling selfish play out. And his post moves aren't all that bad. I mean, they're slow as molasses, but somehow he gets it done even though I cringe every time... And he feeds Ming the ball in the post alot too.
No....it won't be good. It's not a good game to get reacquainted in. It's a very big game. Maybe he will come back and fit in perfectly. Maybe not. I just hope there's a miracle and we, the Houston Rockets, with Yao Ming and Steve Francis, can defeat the Los Angeles Lakers, with Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant, at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, on February 18, 2003, on TNT, at 9:30 PM (Central).
has everyone forgotten how bad we are on the road? every game we play is merely delaying the inevitable. that is, the rockets are lottery bound. the irony is, we won't have a lottery pick, it goes to memphis.
big games? the rockets is heading out of the playoffs. yao is probably browsing the travelocity web site, looking for a good deal back to shanghai. LOL
Shooting 40 % is getting it done? Wow we are really in trouble if we look forward to Rice coming back.
Glen Rice did play the last game against the Hawks. The only problem for him and you is the Hawks game was on January 10th. He last played Jan. 11 vs Denver. If we are depending on Glen Rice to save us from Kobe and Shaq, we are in some seriously deep doo-doo!
To tell you the truth, I think Glen Rice will probably be a bit useful in that 2nd game. In the 1st one, we need every starter to play their brains out. In game 2, we need to rely on our second unit a lot (Cato, MoT, Rice) to destroy their very inferior 2nd unit.
first off, i agree. although your post sounded like a commercial. second of all, how the hell do you have 700 posts and you registered last month. that is honestly very scary.
Man...if Los Angeles wins today against New York at Staples Center...and that is very likely, they will be 27-24...just like the Rockets. NOT GOOD. That will make it a big game. And it would just a MIRACLE if the Rockets won. I wish they could... Also, if the Spurs win against Sacramento today!!!...they will be tied for 2nd place! 37-14 or something.
I dissagree. How many pure shooters do we have on our team? Will Glen Rice actually help us lose more then we are now?
How many do we have? Like one. Terence Morris. AND.................he only makes them when he's WIDE OPEN. His defense is not THAT great. He is a little slow for small forwards...and a little small for power forwards. He's just a good old Terrapin. That's why we need Wesley Person!
There is no 2nd place when you're #2 in your division, and the team ahead of you is at the top of the Western Conference, because no matter if the Spurs have a better record then Sacramento, Kings will still get the #2 spot.
The last game that I saw that Rice played good is @Seattle. We won that game easily. What I remember most is of Yao passing out of the double team and Rice drilling the three. So who knows, but we can only hope.
