Starts tomorrow night at 6:30pm CST on FOX. 90 Minutes long, then it is followed by "Married With Children.." the reunion. Yes! :) I remember when I was young, all I did was wait for Sunday nights on Fox, 6PM-9PM.

Good article on Slate.com Unfortunately I think they are right, the Simpsons are coming to an end. I still watch them and enjoy them, but they have done everything, it is about time to end it. Maybe one more year so they can pass "Ozzie and Harriet" for the longest running Comedy of all time.

I can't wait for the 3rd season on DVD, that's when the Simpsons were starting to get good. The 4th season and on are awesome, they got the animation right and started to develop all of the characters.

Probably my favorite show ever, with some close seconds like "Married With Children", "Cheers", "Quantum Leap" and "Newsradio".

Thank You Simpsons for all the laughs. :D

    Doh!!!!!

That would be hard considering time never passes in Springfield. :)

I actually hated the episodes where they did the two spinoffs with Principal Skinner and Chief Wiggum - boring....

Wiggum is the funniest characted hands down, but you would get sick of them if you saw them for 23 minutes, They all have to be revolving around, with new material.

Is the Simpsons the show with all of the lawyers on it?

The best episodes of the Simpsons were from Season 3 to Season 6. I mean every episode was a classic. It included such great episodes as:

    1) the one that Homer goes into space
    2) the one in which Homer is the union president and fights for the company dental plan
    3) Burns' softball ringers
    4) Burns and his bear, Bobo
    5) Gabbo vs Krusty
    6) Bart breaking his leg

and my all-time favorite, the Cape Fear takeoff with Sideshow Bob.

Lawyer: Robert, if released, would you pose any threat to one Bart Simpson?
Sideshow Bob: Bart Simpson? Ha! The spirited little scamp who twice foiled my evil schemes and sent me to this dank, urine-soaked hellhole?
Parole officer: Uh, we object to the term "urine-soaked hellhole" when you could have said, "peepee-soaked heckhole."
    Sideshow Bob: Cheerfully withdrawn.
Lawyer: But what about that tattoo on your chest? Doesn't it say, "Die Bart, Die?"
Sideshow Bob: [conciliatorily] No, that's German for "The Bart, The."
    [The spectators laugh, understanding]
Female Parole officer: No one who speaks German could be an evil man.

I thought the past few season has been strugling but the one that was played 2 weeks ago (2/2) was just HILARIOUS. It was the episode where Marge got buffed up. I almost died laughing with Homer's reference to Tetris and even had the old school Game Boy Tetris background music playing. Just hilarious!!! Then the second episode that was a rerun (Marge getting breast implents) was also hilarious. I will definitley be watching tommorrow's 300th episode. Plus Married with Children's reunion show should be good. Is it going to be a reunion episode or just interview with casts with flashbacks (ala The Cosby Show). I would rather see an episode. Plus, the only reason I think Ed O'Neil agreed to do it this time is so he can promote himself for Dragnet (aka Dutch: The Movie :D ).

"Marge vs the Monorail" has to be in my top 10.
    Also,

    - "Dead Putting Society" - Todd Flanders vs Bart Simpsons in the putt-putt golf match.
    - Both of the episodes with Danny Devito as Homer's long lost brother.
    - When the "Radioactive Man Movie" is shot in Springfield.
    - When Homer saves the plant from meltdown and the plant gets bought by the germans - "pulling a homer" is added to the dictionary.
    - All of the treeshouse's of horror with Kodos and Kang and when Homer sells his soul for a doughnut.
    - When Bart joins the Boy Scouts and they get lost in the ocean and visit Krusty's oil rig burger stand.
    - Mr. Plow
    - Whacking Day

    So many good episodes.

Finally a thread where anything Simpsons related isn't off topic! :)

    Simpsons is so overrated.

I'd rather watch Scrubs, Seinfeld, Family Guy, Southpark anyday.

Poor Nomar. It's so hard to understand cartoons when you are chugging Jack Daniels, isn't it? :)

I have to admit.. Family Guy has probably had funnier moments.. but you can't beat the Simpsons for longevity

Family Guy was off the hook. They also need to make a Simpsons full length animated movie. That would be a box office hit for a while.

Did anyone see "Itchy and Scratchy - The Movie"? ;)

Nomar - Scrubs/Seinfeld are awesome shows for sure, but its like comparing a 3 time all-star to a hall of famer.... You know both are good, but only one is great.

I love Scrubs BTW. I can't wait to buy them on DVD...

whoa whoa whoa! "Seinfeld" a three time All Star? I have to respectfully disagree!

I'd compare it more like this. Let's say that the television programming world was an NBA team. "The Simpsons" would be the Shaquille O'Neal and "Seinfeld" would be Kobe Bryant.

"Scrubs" could be Kareem Rush, I guess.

Nomar, you like the Family Guy? Sheesh. Scrubs is probably my favorite comedy on TV right now, though. With Bernie Mac a close second.

One of my favorite Simpson's episode that comes to mind is the one where Homer becomes a bootlegger (Homer Versus The 18th Amendment).

Wiggum: Put out an APB on a Uosdwis R. Dewoh. Uh, better start with Greektown.

Friday: That's "Homer J. Simpson", Chief. You're reading it upside down.

Wiggum: Uh, cancel that APB. But, uh, bring back some of them, uh, giros.

Friday: Uh, Chief? You're talking into your wallet.

    :D
