This is what I knew the guy could do. He never gives up and I just wish the best for Najera. He has a very bright career in the nba. I wish we had him right now, KENNY FOR NAJERA? [IMG]

I see what soonerockstro was saying all along , so for the najera haters , apoligize to him now.

Who remembers Don Nelson laughing about the Najera/Langhi swap? Who knows, maybe Langhi will get pissed and whip up the Mavericks next time. I for one hope that Langhi pans out for us as planned. But I'm not gonna look at one pre-season game and say that I wouldn't have made the trade.

When Najera is back on the end of the Dallas bench by the start of the season you'll all realize one thing: THIS WAS ONE PRESEASON GAME! Najera is a player who plays pure off desire and hustle, something that so many players lack in the preseason. He'll cool off guys- believe me. Langhi will crush him.

Najera outscored Francis tonight by 6, Iverson by 8, and many other stars. I guess he's better then all of them.

Why are we having a season this year? Put the teams that win their first preseason game in the playoffs and give all the individual awards after the first preseason game.

    Please.

I for one think Najera is going to be a good player but nothing special.Although I do think he will continue to be a fan favorite I dont think he is going to see much time this season.I still think Langhi is going to be a better player this year and in the future.

Najera played well, and what a following this guy has here in Dallas. Man, the crowd was going nuts for him.

He was so active on the boards, got some easy put backs, and had a nice dunk off a pick and roll with Nash.

I have to hand it to him, El Hoopo has a lot of energy and it shows. He played pretty good defense too. It is too early to judge him yet, but he was impressive last night. Hakeem and Cato were out a good portion of the second half, and our defense suffered though.

Someone freakin' cancel classes at Oklahoma. Najera scored twenty-three points in a pre-season game.

    Announcement from OU president:
"After Eduardo Najera's performance, all Wednesday classes are cancelled to celebrate this stunning preseason performance."

All jokes aside, any of us Texas fans can tell you Najera's a pure scorer, and single-handedly beat us two years ago at the Erwin Center. He's a good player to have on the bench, and he'll give you 110% every night. The verdict has yet to be reached in the Langhi swap, but I think we got a guy who'll fit in well in our system: pure shooter, matador defender.

"It's Tueday night and the Sooners are still scoring in Dallas." 63-14! If you don't see that Najera is good after seeing him do this for four years then you will never see that he will be atleast a great sixth man and possible all-star. Eduardo will play a prominent role for the Mavs this year and I see him probably making the rookie team. Props to you Francis3 for being a realist and realizing that Ed is a good player. BTW, is Martin playing for the Nets yet? I think he will be a great player for years to come.

The only prominent role Najera will play is taking up that 12th man seat on the end of the bench. Playing well on college doesn't make you a great NBA 6th man and a possible All-Star. Neither does one preseason game in which no other player on the court is exerting much effort at all.

to call people who disagree that najera will be good haters is wrong.Obviously youve never really seen langhi play. Langhi won SEC conference player of the year over the likes of stromile swift and mike miller, and thats no small feat. He has a smooth shot and will contribute if he gets any minutes. I have nothing against Najera but he like any player who lacks the physical skills to compete in the nba makes up for it in pure hustle and grit. He does not have a good shot or good ballhandling in fact I can not remember at any time last night that he made a shot farther than 5 feet from the basket. Let's not be premature here and label this guy mexicos gift to the nba yet. I am happy the rocks drafted langhi and he will show you najera bandwagoners why he was drafted ahead of najera

If you're going to argue that college means nothing for Eduardo then I guess we should forget what every other rookie did in college? Kenyon Martin sucks because he played in CUSA, Stromile Swift is weak and has no skills because a couple of years of college ball means jack, and I wouldn't say that Marcus Fizer can be a dominant player because his college days mean squat. Whatever, you sound like a democrat who contradicts himself every time he opens his mouth.

To judge a player by 1 preaseason is so wrong, just remember last yr when our own Calvin Kato had us thinking of the next Mutombo !! he sure cooled off didn't he?

Najera was the 3rd power forward drafted by the Mavs this year. Harvey and Thomas should get more playing time. Plus he's undersized. 6'8"? Hardly. He's closer to 6'6" than 6'8". Classic tweener - no outside shot and too small to bang with the trees. And he's 24 - hardly a young prospect (older than Mo Taylor, whose been in the league for 3 years).

And the Sooners are gonna get beat down the next 2 weeks by KState and Nebraska!

Will someone please give oklahoma fans a reality pill. El hoopo is not a NBA star he's a young Bill Curley. He isn't deserving of PT anywhere this side of Norman.
He is the 2000 Master P, a pre-season crowd favorite.

Eduardo will not be a Superstar but he will become a good role player for years to come. I would rather have him than KT. Eduardo is a fighter, if you watched in college how much he hustled you would be amazed. Players that hustle and fight for the ball always succeed.

What aspect of basketball does najera show to be a better player than KT didn't KT have 20 boards against "da bulls" last year.
didn't KT show the ability to hit outside, post up inside, and leap to contend with much taller players.
Najera may dive for balls more, but thats it.
