Aye. So do I, man. I hate speeders through school zones.
You have that completely wrong, sir. Mine is more like a burritoface. <- the one you missed.

On wilcrest right around bellaire there are two school zones that are really close to each other.... Almost everytime I am coming home from classes I have people honking at me because I'm going too slow..... Every time I roll down my window and point at the 20 mph school zone sign..... It really pisses me off....

Anyways, toooooday the suuuun hasss coooome ouuut and the weatherisabeautifuloutsidein in australia... Houston I mean...

:p That's NO karma, that's just me making a mistake and I will admit I was guilty and pay whatever dues because I broke the law and got caught.

Unlike you in that thread, I'm not a repeat offender and my record is squeaky clean, sir. I will continue to bust your chops because your a$$ complained about it instead of accepting guilt from the get-go. GET IT, son? ;) Nice nickname, by the way.

A school zone ticket isn't like a construction zone where it's double the fine amount?

^ :( Couldn't reach for my semicolon and parenthesis faster than my license and registration, man.
I believe I qualify for defensive driving to KEEP IT squeaky clean, but you might be right about "was", until I get it taken off. Well played.

^ That doesn't mean you didn't break the law or didn't complain, mister Prohibition! Thank you for the well wishes, sir, but it's really a punishment and I will not have any fun.

My first ticket ever was going 24 mph in a school zone in houston. I was 16 and the first thing the cop said to me was, "you know you could kill children at this speed......" Even though plenty of states have school zone speed limits of 25 mph....

You were probably just distracted making a 'That's what she said' joke to your daughter.

I got my first ticket when I was driving to WestHou Med Center and was 2 blocks away from the hospital, and a freaking speed trap got me...he flags my car down and directs me towards a hidden driveway...profusely apologized to no avail made me sign the electronic document...and got my ticket 41 on a 35...:( and as i pulled out of the driveway...he flagged/gunned another car...

Cops often times have departmental quotas...that they try to meet and this jerk was doing just that...cause he wasnt back till about a month later...

Now I just invest my money on a radar...its not like i speed, but its worth it to not get bs tickets...infact there are even some apps that you can put on your phone...but not really sure how effective it is...

Oh wow, in the Bay Area it's a 25 in the school zones. Getting ticketed going 27 would be ridiculous here. I've gotten ticketed twice, 42 on a 30 and 41 on a 25. The first time it happened, there was literally a cop standing in the middle of the road with his hand out telling me to stop. He had to have radared me from like a mile away. The second time it happened, I was behind a car and there was a car behind me, and the cop tried to pull all 3 of us over at the same time. Car in front of me drove off though.

No, they are just likely to be less fat and so can move before a car hits them.

Seriously though, I thought at some places the speed limit is higher if the street itself is a major throughway.

I see your point; there are plenty of 30mph school zones in Texas. The cop was rightly lecturing you, but he didn't say the right thing. Bottom line: zero tolerance in school zones, and I have no problem with that.
