I was asking about the color of the car. You don't see many of them around. Good for you on the biz. How big is the shopping center? I dabble w real estate, great $$$...
Very true. People who drive nice cars, probably at some point had a nice car to trade in paired with a nice lil down payment. Like if you bought a 3 series and then paid it off, then added another 10 grand down payment, and upgraded to an 5 series, and paid that off and dropped another 10 grand.
I don't think anyone was hating on people who can afford it. It started when people saying people who buy 3 series are douche bags because they can't afford an m3. Then other posters and me stated that people who own m3/m5s and are struggling with car payments are the real douche bags or idiots.
By all means, if you can afford an m5 without it affected your retirement plan, house payments, your children's future, your credit rating etc go freaking by an m5. Its an amazing vehicle.
Stereotypes exist for a reason, haha. Doesn't mean they all are of course, but man...when I run into said people (strangers), they sure come off douchey to me. Personally, I think the new 5 series is a great lookin' car. I was comparing the 5 and E class when I was last shopping for a car. The new 5 had JUST come out. I wasn't as keen on it as the new ones I've seen with the M kit on it or whatever. Although I'm 100% happy with my E, I can appreciate the 5 as well.
On older ones and also modern ones. It's just a ratio. A lot of cameras work in 1/2 or 1/3 step increments. Go to Flickr or some other photo site and do a search for pictures with F10 EXIF data if you don't believe me. Here are some pictures of dogs with that setting. http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=dog&xah=10&xal=10 Back on topic: There are a ton of douches out there and they are definitely not just BMW owners. It's just that it's easier to hate on BMW/MB owners, etc.
I just bought the 2013 E350 on Black Friday after looking at the Audi A5/A6 and BMW 5 series. I got the best bang for my buck with the Benz and like the bigger body style of it compared to those other two.
Because those drivers are generally just driving the low end of these brands just to say they drive a BMW or Benz. Its the same with Porsche Boxsters(however, i will say the new ones do look very nice). They're typically people who can't afford and are reaching to make a status. These same type of guys can't stretch their wallets on the 5 series or E class so thats why you see a lot of older people or just general ballers driving those rather than the younger douches. One last thing, the C class and 3 series are tiny too. You see a lot of girls driving these cars so the fact that you are driving a girly car makes it even worse. This does not include the M or AMG since those are so high powered and rugged that theyre not girly or douchey.
Exactly. See above. Most people who get the higher priced cars generally are older or are more financially stable as opposed to the C's and 3's.
Personally I prefer the Audi S6. So did Car and Driver. Not that I have the cabbage to afford one.....
I mean let's be honest here, it's not like these entry level models for the luxury brands are cheap, and not everyone falls into that categories described by Butterfingers, but I bet it's more common than not. It's the whole reason they have the "entry level" label on them...for those that care what other think as far as the badge on their car. Have you guys been in the interior of these cars? It's been a while since I've been in a 3 series, but the C-Class I get to see whenever I get a loaner. It's night and day to the other models in the lineup. Then compare the E class with the higher models. It's not that much different. Sure it is, but not as much of a gap. I think the easiest way to point out the folks Butter is talking about is to see what options they have on their C/3. Base model? What are they? Mid 30s before options? If you can afford that, you should be able to afford the next step up. If you can't, you are shopping outside of your means.
ANYWAY, way off topic. The new E63 was announced as well. Not sure I like it as much as the current E body. I prefer the M5 here too. Might grow on one, never know.
You are saying most BBA buyers are douches? I drive a Golf feeling very comfortable about it and I am a man, straight. A lot of girls drive Jeep, Suburban and even Hummer. Does that make them look more manly?
