I do not have a problem with Cato questioning officials on a bad or missed call. To see him run to the other side of the court, with no objection to a bad or missed call seems un-healthy. Cato is (or should be) an emotional, energy-driven player. He loses a competitive edge and intensity when he is dis-couraged from confronting an official on an erroneous call. Will the real Charles Bark^^^Kelvin Cato please stand up? ------------------ Not only have the Drew bashers crossed the line, but they've sprinted a couple of miles beyond it.
Interesting. Bryce Drew also showed improvement, but didn't receive the same kind of understanding. ------------------ Not only have the Drew bashers crossed the line, but they've sprinted a couple of miles beyond it.
I disagree 110%. Cato is an energetic player and doesn't need to voice his displeasure with a call everytime the whistle blows. Things like that leave a lasting impression with the referee's around the league and you could see it last season. On many occasions, Cato took himself out of games by getting into foul trouble early and never getting in a rhythm. Thus far it seems as though when he gets called he keeps his head in the game and more often than not, does something to make up for the call, such as make a defensive play, get a rebound, or an open look for a shot/dunk. I really think if he keeps this attitude we may eventually see the Cato we all envisioned at the beginning of last season. ------------------ Too often, we lose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, but it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and pimp-slap the mother****** upside the head!
Drew only problem IMHO is that he was playing behind a superstar and was in the wrong system. When we still had Dream and Sir Charles healthy, Drew was very valuable but in the up-tempo style we play now, he did not have the opportunities. ------------------ Houston Rockets Forever!! I know this is only preseason, but there's one trend that I hope Cato doesn't carry over into the regular season. 31 Total Minutes 9 Total Fouls ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem. DREAMer's Rocket Page
The real Kelvin Cato got mad at the refs and took himself out of the game. I'd rather not have the real Kelvin Cato back. It might not be that healthy to keep all "anger" at the refs boiled up inside, but at least he keeps focused and makes up for any fouls by reboundin or blockin sum1. ------------------ president of the dan langhi fan club.
I don't quite see how going from backing up Francis to backing up a CBAer qualifies as improvement, maybe that's just me. ------------------ "Democrats want to give people fish. Republicans would rather teach people how to fish." -Charles Barkley
Some guys just don't have it in them to bark at refs. Sure, I think we all would like to see some fire from Kelvin, just to know he cares, but it may not be his style. The only flair I see from him is when he throws one down. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
The real Kelvin Cato showed up last night when he refrained from disputing the official's calls, and then made two crucial defensive plays at the end of the game. Add in a big rebounding night (considering his limited minutes), and I am very happy with his performance. Kelvin is improving, and that is all that fans can ask, imo. ------------------ What a slam dunk!!
