I don't know which games you're watching, because I see him settle for that mid range shot all the time. I've simply never seen him make those with any kind of consistency. Jeremy Lin needs to practice his shooting for the entirety of this offseason. It's maddening how he could easily return to near Linsanity status if only defenders have to respect his shot. Right now, they don't even care.
Jeremy has become our defensive specialist. the guy is Earl Watson but with size, strength, court vision, and better offense (except for the jumpers).
He has alot things to learn, a pace changing jumpshot OR a tony parker like tear drop will definitely help his current game. I think the tear drop is more natural for him to practice on, once mastered that, he can move on to practice jumpshot and 3pts. Once he gets all that, he will become a ................ Tony Parker with Harvard degree but - hot ex-wife.
He didn't have a good three point percentage last season either and his mid range game isn't anything to brag about. He's still young. Tony Parker was on the bench and had limited playing time for a few years before he got his craft perfected.
Yes, Tony Parker was not a good shooter once (hell, notorious for many years), and defenders cheats off on his shooting range. And history proves that jump shooting is something a player can improve on, example would be Parker and Kidd, even Rose and Rondo are having better jumpers than a couple years ago. So I think Lin has alot more room for improvement.
The coaches were the jokes in the biginning. Houston has the worse basketball fans. I like the Rockets with Harden, Asik and Parson and the rest of the players including Toney Douglas..... but I sure wish they would trade Jeremy Lin for his own sake. A polite young man deserves to play in another city. Douglas can then move up as well. Trading Lin will be good for everything and everybody, most of all for Jeremy.
Golden State for one. Sold out pretty much every home game last season. Sure, they do b**** about their players, but never anyone that gives 100% effort.
As long as no more knee injury, JLin7 will do just fine. He is one of the best PG H-town had since SF3. People can cry out loud for GDragic, KLowry, and dream about CP3 or whoever as much as they want to, I don't give.....
Don't you think if Lin was playing the way he did earlier in the season some GSW fans would b**** and overreact if Lin was on their team?
I really disagree with you - I think he try shoot more mid-range 2 and decrease his 3pt shots. Based on last 10 games, I believe stats due back that up. 10 games ago happen to be 12/17 Knick's. In my opinion Lin's seem regain confidence and coaches also seem to design some play for him that game. In last 10 games Lin is 11-20 from 10-23 feet. That averages too be 55% and 2 per game. Not sure why you think he settles for this shot. From 3 point land he 8-36 for 22.5% in last 10 games. I think everyone can agree he needs to practice this big time. That's 22pt on 20 shot vs 24pt on 36. Also if Lin shoots more mid-long range 2's and connects I'm guessing it will help him find his range on the 3 ball.
Not sure about that. Seems like the rest of the world remembers Lin just came off a knee operation. Even the announcers last night talked about it. I think Houston was denied this important piece of information Seems like GSW really liked Lin, but their PG chart was a little too deep. Earlier in the season I was also hoping that Lin would be traded for everybody's good, given the way he was utilized and the amount of hate he received on this board. Since then most people have come around. Winning solves a lot of problem.
Small sample sizes are so unreliable and basically can change if you just differ by a game or two. Jeremy Lin also shot 39% on 10-23footers in December and January. While 30% on 3s. He doesn't shoot so much that a 10 game sample of any sort provides adequate information. In the end, he's not making jumpers, ANY kind of jumpers. If he could truly shoot mid-range jumpers at even 45% clip, I bet you he gets the green light every time he's open.
