Cat always wants to be "the man".

Having said that, he must shoulder a LOT OF RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY.

If he is unable to overcome whatever it is that is bothering him, then he should be happy to be a role player.

    This is ri-God Damn-diculous.

Cat's obviously having his worst run of games in 2 YEARS. He DESERVES a break. We're going to need him to heat up. MOST OF ALL, we need to see a better 3-pt shot from him. That's what's at a premium for us right now.

Come on okay we are supposed to be biased towards our players but please be realistic here that's no way Mobley deserved to be an all-star definitely not in this talented Western Conference (although I kept voting for him :) ). I just hope that Mobley accepts this fact and also adjusts to his now more diminished role on the team. Michael Finley's done that (since the emergence of Nash and Dirk) and that's why Dallas had such a good record. Mobley should and could do the same.

We need Cat more than ever right now. He will have his break from April to October, if he keeps playing like dog crap, we will not make the playoffs.

One of the few posts I agree with here.

We should really root for Cat rather than hope he gets traded for lesser talent. He's in a slump. He'll get out of it. And I think he can be a valuable starter on this team. Although I have to say, I really don't think he's clutch, despite what he thinks. I don't want the ball in his hands on the last play, i.e. the home Jazz game.

wow it's almost as if this thread was able to take all of the ingorance about cat that exists on this board and cram it all into one place. amazing how stupid some of you people are. basically everything after the initial post and before gr8-1's post.

    that's how i spent post 1500?

I agree with you 100%. The irony is that we do better as a team when Cat is in a slump or ineffective. i like our chances better when he plays less and shoots less. When he gets his numbers, that's when you know we are in trouble. I don't give him any sympathy because he should be glad that his minimum role is helping the Rockets. You should always put your team first. if i was a pro player who was blessed with a gift to make millions of dollars to play a game, i'd be happy if my team won as long as i did my job effectively. If I wasn't the first or second or the third offensive option, I wouldn't give a damn as long as i helped in every other way that may not be as glamorous.

That is not true at all. Where do you get that? Cat's stats in wins in markedly improved versus losses. The same was very true last year, too.

Cat scores 19.6 pts in wins at 45% and 15.6 pts in losses at 40%.
He has 3.6 assists in wins, and 2.3 in losses.
1.74 stls and .70 blocks in wins versus 1.00/.32.

Rox are 10-1 when Cat and Francis combine for 50 points.
Rox are 11-5 when Cat scores 20pts.
Rox are 2-4 when Cat scores 10 or less
Rox are 9-4 when Cat shoots 50%
Rox are 7-8 when Cat shoots <40%

I'm not saying we need Cat to produce at 19.6ppg and 45%. I'm just debunking your theory that we excel when Cat is in a slump.

I have more sympathy for cat after seeing him on Cribs, he seems like a real nice dude... it'll be much harder to bash him now that I know he has feelings and such. I am sure it will happen again, fellow human being or not!

    :)

"Addition by subtraction may be good for them."

Kejia (Philadelphia): Houston is suppose to have a very strong backcourt with Francis and Mobley. Why is it so hard to get both of them going at the same time? It seems like most time, only one of them is shooting well.

Fred Carter: (3:49 PM ET ) That's the way it should be. It's hard to have two guys doing all the scoring in the backcourt. The focus of the ball should be in the hands of Stevie Franchise. Mobley should pick up shots during the game and when he has the hot hand, the ball can favor him. But usually it should be between Francis and Ming. They may have too many offensive players. Addition by subtraction may be good for them.

Give Cat a break - at the beginning of every game by letting him come off the bench.

I agree that people are being too hard on Mobley. The guy plays hard every night and I'm sure he realizes he's not the #1 or #2 option. Yes, he's been cold, but instead of saying let's trade him and bashing him, as Rockets fans I'd think it'd be better to be supportive and defend him from the critics.
