Leave it to everyone to believe Pau sucks out of nowhere. He's not being used properly. Is it no wonder everyone else's numbers are down while Kobes are up? I wonder what the all time Lakers W's vs L's look like when Kobe scores 35 or more, not just on this team.
I believe the Suns have their draft pick. ....So it'll probably be "Lakers trade for top prospect X for All-star Gasol in draft night mayhem"
I don't see an identity for this team yet, despite the great individual talent. They're the sixth highest paced team and score well, but I don't notice many transition points. Their ball movement is awful even with Nash back. Four of their main scorers like to post, none outside of Nash are 3pt specialists. Miami had these chemistry problems too, but they had youth and a defensive identity to build on. The Lakers only defend occasionally and never for a full game. Their individual players have great stat lines, but do they have set roles to play every night? Does their team have a strength besides Kobe?
they will turn it around eventually right? I'm sure of this though....72 wins is out of the question.
50 wins? The Lakers will be lucky to be in the play-off picture at the end of the week. Their next games are Denver, Houston, Spurs, Thunder. They could very well drop to 15 - 21, and there's no way they'll be able to secure a seed at that point when Portland, Houston, Denver, Minnesota and Utah are all chasing and ahead with better teams. Denver has a much easier schedule from here on in while Portland and us are young teams who are continually improving as the season progresses.
forward Jordan Hill injured his ankle, rolled around in pain on the ground, but none of his teammates came over to check on him.
The dynamic clearly isn't working (for now). Who is primarily to blame? The answer seems like Kobe, since he is so pompous and seems to have problems with everyone eventually.... But he is still clearly the best and most important individual player on that team. Hypothetical... What can Kobe bring back in a trade - I think he has a no trade clause right... So just hypothetical. Would thebKnicks do straight up Carmelo for example?
The Kobe hate here is always remarkable, so me taking the time to make too much sense would be a waste of energy. That being said, ill hit a few points and move on -Kobe has been the ONLY consistent bright spot for this team -Pau is a shell of himself on the block and and at this point his best attributes are his passing and jumpshooting. In that order. Even still, I wouldnt have him shooting 3pters -Mike D'Antoni is largely one dimensional (minus some Christmas day sets) and he hasn't adjusted to this roster at all -The Princeton was VERY underrated and sadly was the early season 'whipping boy' for this teams woes -If Dwight had the motor of Asik or a third of Faried's the lakers would have 3-5 more wins -Everyone besides Metta, Meeks and Hill are borderline useless, and thats not saying much
Train wreck They don't like each other Dwight spent too much time in Disneyland then wanting to have fun and entertain people as he says in LA I think he underestimated the drama part, especially with Kobe. Matt Barnes said the locker room was disruptive but wouldn't say more. It would be interesting if Dwight leaves this summer though...LA paying Kobe 30+ million alone screws them over immensely.
Maybe he'll need to learn that individual players can't win in the NBA. I know that's hard for his fans to accept, but... Love to see the Lakers fail.
