    Did anybody see that happening?

Personally, I thought they would struggle a little on offense.

    Struggle a litte?

    That might be an understatement.

Half of the garm was rooting for the rookies and asking to tank before the trade.

The OKC guys pegged Harden as a 15 pts. per game guy.

The NYC fans thinks Lin was a scrub.

The CHI people thought we overpaid for Asik.

So no, I didn't think we would be the scoring leader.

AND I thought Delfino = useless...MM would have been cut, etc.

The only one whom I believed that he would play much better this year is ... Toney Douglas.

Well, the fans of those other teams do that kind of stuff in order to make themselves feel better about their team. After a guy is gone, it makes themselves feel better if they convince each other that they aren't missing much.

No. But that's more due to misjudgement of playstyle than capability. I thought the Rockets wanted to play the Van Gundy/Thibadeou way. With Asik, Patterson, and Parsons providing hard nosed defense while Lin and Harden break teams down in the half court. Basically, a lot of grinded out games taking advantage of Asik's presence in the middle, Parsons' iso defense on the perimeter, and Patterson's overall post/PnR defensive ability.

I did not think for a second that they would sign Asik and then play a run and gun style.

No. I really thought that we'd tank this year and play the rookies. By now, I thought D-mo would be starting over Patterson and Jones would be in the running for ROY.

Nobody would have predicted how well Asik would fit into this type of offense. He has a handful of beautiful outlet passes that directly to easy layups every single game.

He still has to work on his conditioning though, but that's understandable.

We tend to do the same thing here. Fortunately, most of the guy's that have been let go haven't really done much, Kyle Lowry being a recent example.

I thought 33 wins and I thought that would be a success for such a young that had not really played together yet. Tomorrow if they beat the Cavs, which they should do, they will already be at 20 wins. And no, I did not thing the Rockets would be the scoring leaders.

I knew they would be a good scoring team. I didn't think they would be the best though. Luv it.

I bet even Morey doesn't know. Nobody does. Even if you put a bunch of great players together, there is no guaranteed they're going to create magic (see Lakers). So it's been a surprise so far. The team is playing unexpectedly great. Everything have to be together collectively to make it work from coaching, design play calls to players personality and talents. So far, so good....let's keep going and enjoy. I rather see them winning grow now than losing and grow later lol.

I observe this for many years, from Francis, Mobley to Now, most of the players who left Rockets, would soon dissapeared in NBA

i thought we would be last in almost every category with assuming we will play a lot of rookies this year.
After the Harden trade, i expected him to just pad his stats, but oh boy, I've never been so happy to be so wrong

I don't think anyone did. Most threads were about whether we should be tanking and what model/route will we go to rebuild this team.

I just checked Hollinger's Power Rankings. Lo and behold we're up at #4. The blowout of playoff teams + recent losses by top teams pushed us even higher. It's a statistical ranking, but I'm going to enjoy it for as long as I can :)
