Barring injuries, Heat are pretty much a lock to repeat

I'm sorry to the Heat haters on this board, but the Heat are pretty much a lock to win it all again if they don't have any major injuries.

Your best bet is for a team to go nuts from 3 for an entire series and also at the same time, hope the Heat go cold and miss open shots. The problem is that it is unlikely that a team would do that against Miami's suffocating perimeter defense. It's also unlikely with the sharp shooters the Heat have and with Wade, Lebron, and Bosh drawing attention for everyone else.

Heat? Oh, I thought you meant Hawks.

    Bold statement you just made.

The 24-6 OKC team playing in the tougher Western Conference, with easily the second best player in the world and a PG who is clearly better then both option 2 and 3 on the Heat team, disagrees.

The 25-7 Clippers team playing in the tougher Western Conference, coming off 17 wins in a row, with the best PG in the world and with the probably the best bench in the L also disagrees.

The Heat are far from a lock. OKC will be much better better prepared if they make the finals for a second time, especially if it is against the Heat again. I also have grave doubts about the Heat's bench.

I think this thread and your thoughts are ****e.

I think they'll struggle to beat the knicks more than they will any team in the west.

lol at using regular season to think these teams have a shot against Miami.

You do realize Miami is coasting and not even trying right now right? And they're still #1 out in the East. Plus, 7 game series is not even about who is better sometimes, it's about matchups, Miami matches up well against both especially OKC.

I'd say they are the favorite. There is no such thing as a lock.

This thread doesn't even have value as something that could be bumped after the playoffs so we can all high-five and laugh at the OP. He joined a week ago to evidently share some fascinating insights about the Miami Heat, it's not like he's going to be here to face the music 4 months from now.

WB isn't better than Bosh, and he certainly isn't better than Wade when Wade's 100%. Bosh gets so much hate around here it's crazy. Haven't you learned anything from James Harden? When you have a big 2, the 3rd guy has to sacrifice his shots which will lower his stats. However just because his stats are low doesn't mean he's not good. Bosh is the league's most versatile big man since KG/TD, he can post up, shoot mid-range, even 3s from time to time. He's also an amazing defender, and can defend guys from C to SF with no problem.

OKC's weaker this year than last year, and Miami's stronger this year adding Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis to the same cast they had last year. Clippers...I ain't even gonna comment on that. Lakers have a better chance of beating Heat than Clips, so if they have the best PG, LBJ gives him the D Rose treatment and guards him all game long, what happens then?

It's not the Heat, it's the Humidity?

    uninteresting rant:

Of course, Heat fans routinely tell the world that "Dwyane Wade is playing hurt" after every bad game. Even when he's clearly at full health but has just come down with a case of his HGH-based athleticism drying up and his not having a fallback. So I think I see the kernel of built-in excuse making down the road already. There will be some mysterious "injury" used as a scapegoat, no doubt, for a team that already wasn't good enough to beat the (lol) Celtics last season without the benefit of 12 more free throw attempts in an elimination game. Yes, the Celtics, who as you can see are really a great basketball team themselves.

Sidenote: It's also hilarious how the media sells Eastern Conference teams like the Pacers, Hawks, Knicks, and Heat as "defensive powerhouses" while ignoring that their predominantly Eastern Conference opponents play sluggish, uninteresting basketball no matter who they're facing. It's like no, you just play in the crappy East against teams that literally cannot make shots. This is not low scoring because you are a team of great defenders lol.

I do love the inference that the Clippers are built like the Bulls and need Chris Paul's scoring to succeed, just as the Bulls needed Rose's.

It's false. If anything, the Clippers need scoring from wing players like Jamal Crawford, Caron Butler, Eric Bledsoe, Matt Barnes, Willie Green...etc. etc.

Unless the Heat have found a way to clone 5 LeBron James', somebody is getting clowned by former scoring option-turned-roleplayer on the deepest team in the league.
