Jazz face the Lakers next week....
SO! Who do you root for in this matchup?
Do we want the Jazz to push the Lakers off of our ass a little?
Do we just know that the Lakers won't be held off forever and hope them to bring the Jazz further down?
Or are we just screwed no matter who wins!? :(

Looks like we're gonna be screwed no matter who wins.

But if I have to choose, I'll take Jazz lose. Lakers WILL be in the playoff, so it looks like right now the last spot will be fought among Suns, Jazz, Rockets, and Golden State.

Agreed. It is dissapointing to say the least to think about what kind of shape we would be in if we had closed out the Jazz in the two games we had them beat :(

No one in the world can stop Kobe really, so obviously, we hope the Jazz lose and most of all, WE WIN.

I guess I wasn't really specific enough, but I meant what outcome is most beneficial to our play-off chances. :p

Lakers will definitely be in the playoffs. Let's root against Jazz, Suns and Minny.

    That's a joke, right?

Kirilienko is a very good defender, however offensive players the caliber of Kobe, rarely get slowed down. If Kobe was able to get his against Bowen, then he will certainly do it against Kirilenko.

The type of shots Kobe takes and makes, such as the fadeaway and his jumper off the dribble, are the types of shots that are literally unstoppable. You just hope that since they are difficult shots, that Kobe will miss them, but they are patented shots for him.

I want to see Jazz losing, of course. I predicted before ASG that Jazz and Suns could not keep up the pace for 2nd half. Lakers and T-Wolves will take 5th and 6th seed. Rox will fight it out with Jazz, Suns and Warriors for the last two spots.

There is some truth to this Kirilenko. It's known that Kirilenko has fairly good success against Kobe. Kobe usually has to take a lot more shots to get his 25 points.

But with the way Kobe is playing right now, (do i dare say it?) even MJ in his prime couldn't stop Kobe.

Are you kidding me? 36 points by halftime yesterday? 51 points even after sitting out the 4th today?

He's playing unbelievable basketball. No one can even begin to say Shaq is carrying that team. Right now, Shaq is just a second scoring threat.

I hope the Lakers to lose for obvious reasons. I am a Jazz fan who hate the Lakers. I am still not buying the Lakers will make to the playoffs for sure. They probably will, but you never know. Maybe we can go on a hot streak and win the race against the Lakers.

For the Jazz? People have been betting against them to make to the playoffs for how long now? 20 years? Guess who has won in all of them?

that's not a joke. kirilenko defends kobe than bowen because of his long arms. he has the quick feet and the long arms to disrupt kobe's shots. it doesn't matter if they are fadeaway or any other shots besides the dunk.

oh, we have another jazz's fan posting this forum. interesting!

In 3 games against Utah this year, Kobe is averaging 28 ppg, 7.7 assists, and is shooting 45.6%.

Basically average to what he does against anyone.

Kirilenko's long arms aren't long enough to disrupt Kobe's fadeaway. The only way to block his shot is if a 2nd defender comes from behind to swat it away, before Kobe is at the apex of his jump. Very very rarely does the man guarding Kobe actually block his fadeaway.

Like I said, that's this year. No one can stop Kobe this year.

Kobe actually has some problems with Yao Ming's height.

In the last game, several times Kobe drove to the basket only to back off after seeing the Wall. He was also forced to shoot a very difficult shot because of Yao at the last second which did not go in and forced the overtime.

I wasn't aware that Yao played Kobe one-on-one. Nor was I aware that Kirilenko is the guy who guards the basket for the Jazz...

    Apples and oranges, man.
