He can't lead back from a mroe than ten point deficit? I like how you phrased that since he lead from 2 ten point deficits this year when are defense was as porous as the '10-'11 Texans. Oh right, he threw for over 500 yards. Any average quarterback can do that. But ah i still remember him coming back from a 27-10 deficit against the redskins. Honestly, lets talk about how our secondary got lit up by a long pass on a 3rd and 23, or how they ran on us in the 4th quarter even when we stacked the box. Or how bad our line is playing. Or how about our special teams. They are much more worrisome than Shaub is. Has he even thrown a high interception game this year? No. Oh yea, he averages less than 1 interception per game for the season. We are fine, and he is still much better than Flacco.
Your football "knowledge" is laughable. You're a bandwagon fan, and you're admitted that you started watching the Texans last year in the wild card game against Cincy. You're a joke
This was Schaub's first chance to perform under this kind of pressure late in the season, and he has come up small. He's just not good enough.
you dudes still making excuses... bottom line, no way schaub goes into foxborough and out qbs brady, so maybe a loss to the bengals could ignite getting this bum out of houston much sooner..
Donny, I recall you defending Carr till the end as well. And it took you a long time to finally get a little negative about Kubiak. Your loyalty is refreshing, in a way, I suppose. Unfortunately it's not always a good trait for the owner of an NFL team. Because you are in a thread about Schaub. Many people understand there are multiple problems right now. That doesn't mean Schaub's play of late still isn't one if them.
You recall wrong. In the Carr vs. Vince debate, I picked Carr. It was like choosing between a douche and a turd. Thank God they went with Schaub. Although it took me until almost the end point of 2008 to get on board with him as a full-time starter. As for Kubiak, if you count "one year longer than some" as "a long time", then sure. I defended him after 2009, when people wanted him gone even after a 9-7 record. In 2010, I wanted him gone. I still think he's a liability as a head coach. Not sure how you get loyalty out of that. I have no allegiance to any of these jokers. I just want what gives us the best chance of winning. And right now, Schaub and Kubiak are that. Once the wheels fall off, I'll revisit the issue of HC/QB.
It's because we know the special teams suck and the right side of the line sucks and Bradie James sucks. There are no delusional threads here calling them ELITE.
The only way out of this mess is to trade Schaub to Arizona and start over, Kirk Cousins, Landry Jones, T.J Yates I don't care, I'm tired of being let down by this dudes arm, or lack thereof
Eh, Schaub's 90.7 rating this year is virtually in line with his 91.9 career rating. He is what he is, at this point. I don't think he's declining. But in a coach/QB-driven league, the Texans are good but not great in both spots, and neither has the upside to improve. Considering the cap situation, I think it could be argued that the team's best seasons are behind them, because they have such a small margin of error everywhere else and cap realities are starting to take hold. Big picture, I think 2011 -- not 2012 -- is going to be the "what if" year for this generation of Texans fans. If ever a year for a Kubiak-Schaub regime to win a Super Bowl, that was it. The running game and defense were top-notch, and the league's other elite teams like New England were much more flawed (defense) than they are in most years. If Schaub had stayed healthy a year ago, I think that was his shot. Going forward, it seems unlikely that the Texans can rebuild their running game and defense to 2011 caliber in the Schaub era, and that's what it would take for him to win big.
I would think so. Some might say given better protection he can produce. But nevertheless he has consistently shown incredibly bad decision making when put to the test and now constantly under or over throws receivers. A team like the Texans with a theoretical window has no margin of error with a guy like Matt at the helm...especially with Kubiak running the show. Maybe with last years offensive line and defense.... but that makes him nothing more than a game manager at best.
If not for Lee Evans dropped pass last year, the Ravens would of beat them, and the Jets beat them the year before. I don't see why the Texans, who although in a slump, could do the same? Brady has not been so magical in the playoffs, and Manning is notorious for having a slump game in the playoffs. They still have talent and still have legitimate pro bowlers in key positions with Watt, Brown, AJ, JJoe, Smith, Foster (all of whom have stepped up in the playoffs before). If there is a bright side from the game, it is that JJoe and Kareem look playoff ready, and that is very important for us when and if we face Brady/Manning.
I agree, but Kubiak and Schaub have weaknesses that lead me to believe we won't be able to beat Brady or Manning at New England/Denver.
What are you, an English teacher? Nice diction. It's not a big deal and I would not of cared more if it was. It is a fan forum: that is a slight error and would not of been corrected my Word spellcheck even.
How was their no pressure on Shaub? He got his ass handed to him on two of the most vicious shots in the NFL this year and it was a road game against the "superbowl contender" Broncos. Quite frankly, we dominated them. For some reason, all quality wins have the "no pressure" factor and losses were because we fell to pressure. It makes no sense.
