Kias, although not my car of choice, are leaps and bounds better nowadays than they were 10 years ago. If Griffin did drive a Kia, he would be getting that thing serviced a lot less than that money dump of a Benz. Not that he cares. Also, to the dude who threw the Iphone vs Galaxy comment, my friend's been through 4 iPhones while I've owned one Galaxy S3. Do some research, brah.
In the 1960's, people made fun of tiny, fuel-sipping Japanese cars. In the 1990's, we made fun of cheap, unreliable Korean cars. Right now and likely for a long time we make fun of Chinese cars.
Riding in a super expensive Benz doesn't really hurt Kia's image, because they aren't positioned as an expensive luxury car brand. If he was doing BMWs and driving a Benz, I could see this being more of a problem.
This thread is actually funny. Y'all beefin with each other over brands. LOL Reminds me of this skit: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/dtSuK4pjoaU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> & ya, no way if I'm Blake Griffin I'm driving a Kia. Too middle class for me. These guys have images to uphold.
First time I saw an Optima I thought it was an Alfa Romeo. And no, I can't be the only one to have made that mistake. The car is sweet.
Jeremy Lin doesn't drive a Volvo, does he? I mean, Volvo didn't even give him one, right? Yeah, I'm not shocked Griffin isn't actually driving a car he's the spokesman for. I'm sure that's pretty common for celebrity endorsed products. Some might be principled enough to only endorse products they actually use and like but many are just happy for the paycheck.
By the way, after seeing kevC's Kia and doing some independent research, I take back what I said. I believe that as of 2012, Kia has surpassed BMW in terms of value, durability, aesthetics, and efficiency. It's only a matter of time before it overtakes the Benz.
You are right, but Hyundai does own Kia and they have a line of luxury cars, though he doesn't actually endorse Hyundai's brand. Every car company understands that people are going to drive more than one brand of car. If he drives to a Kia event, you bet he is going to show up in a Kia. Possible that he could have to drive to the arena in a Kia as well. Tiger owned a Buick back in the day, and he sure as heck showed up to the Buick Open in a Buick, but the rest of the time? Who knows.
I'll see your lack of reading comprehension (and apparent inability to gather evidence from a photograph), and raise you: LoL!
