Do you sometimes wish that the NBA had more Asian players?

No the NBA and the rest of our world should be color blind. We should be only judged by our character, skills and abilties. Not our skin color.

The players with the most talent, athleticism, and size are and should be picked up. If culturaly more black people embrace the sport with passion then they should be the majority in the league. Diversity forced is almost as sorry as segregation

    Hmm, let's see:

    Div II player at BYU-Hawaii
    6'4
    Slow
    Ok handles

I really do wonder why this guy never made it...

Because he's a slow guard with "OK handles". Gotta be quick with a good handle to play in the NBA.

This guy performed extremely well in workouts against other draft picks such as Terrence Ross, but because he's Asian he isn't getting any looks.

Do I have anything against Jet Li and Michael Chang having a lovechild together to create a superchild?

    No.

But if he can't cut it in the D League, that says something.

    It really does.

    That's a racist comment.

Jet Chang tested as one of the quickest players in the history of the NBA combine, his handle is okay for a SG, and he can shoot the lights out from distance.

A lot of asian countries have no infrastructure for basketball. A good example is India, not a single NBA player ever. But no attention is paid to basketball there, it's about cricket and nothing else (except boxing recently). If the infrastructure was there a country of a billion people would have had at least one NBA player by now. There's a young kid training in Orlando, 7'4" I think. If he makes it that might catapult India into setting up some kind of system for basketball.

I don't care about race, skin coloration etc. The only thing that matters is what they bring to the basketball court. To even discuss the subject seems shallow and inappropriate.

No man, NO. A growing group of us are highly passionate about Asian men and want to see them in the NBA. I'm tired of watching athletic black men play with fast twitch muscle fibers ... THEY NEVER PASS ME THE BALL. ME WANT DIM SUM WITH WONTON SOUP. NO FRIED CHICKEN!

    Those are shooting drills.

TD looks even slower in similar drills.

There may be more in the future because of Jeremy Lin. But in the past, it's probably because they were a) not talented enough b) didn't bother trying because of the barriers to entry (Asian, considered unathletic, low chance of making it, etc)

But Jeremy didn't give a rats and kept playing through all the barriers. So maybe he might have inspired future Asians to give it a shot.
