Mobley is just like Nick Van Excel. Guys like them are good coming the bench if you need scoring, but that's it. He wants to be "the man" and take big shots...but failed. Get rid of him now before more damage is done.
The last play was clearly not designed for Mobley. It's a broken play, a desperation shot. He still took 1 or 2 bad shots but most of his shots in this game were within the offensive flow and relatively open. He just missed shots. Please lay him off at least this game's not the best example of "Mobley = Cancer" as if he's.
45 minutes 15% shooting, 2 boards, 50% FT Unbelievable . . . And vs. the evil Jazzholes. Nobody can say Mobes didn't lose that game for us. All I can say is Ahhhhhh...
OH,MY SUCH A BAD GAME...WE SHOULD WON TONIGHT~~~ RUDDY~~~~THINK ABOUT IT. I WANT TO SEE ROCKETS IN THE PLAYOFF~~~ I AM SO SAD...TONIGHT
How can anybody keep defending this idiot with an ego the size of Mt. Everest!! Yes, Cat cost us this game because as a starting frickin 2 guard, especially one who thinks he is deserving of All Star consideration, he had one of his worst shooting performances in what was probably our most important game of the season up to this point!!! Screw Cuttino Mobley!!! He gets paid WAY TOO MUCH for what he provides!!! I hope every single day that Rudy gets fired and Cat gets traded for Gary Payton!!!! I am sick of watching this team ACT like a BAD TEAM. If this team is going to demonstrate their absolute stupidity night after night, then I want my damn money back!!!
I willl never be confused with a Mobley apologist, but as far as losing the game whoever committed the technical foul as the clock expired to end the first half is worth no less than an "honorable mention". Stockton's made free throw to start the second half changed alot of things.
Yup, Mobley had a big hand in losing this game for us. But damn, some of ya'll just can't get off his back huh? He had a bad game.. you don't think other players have a bad game? Go read the Chronicle article. Mobley was NOT GOING TO TAKE THE LAST SHOT but had to because there was no other choice. It seems like it was set up for Morris, who looked to be the hot hand at the time. Sure if he had shot a bit better we'd have the win. But really how many times do you see Cat shoot 2-13? Not very often... just a bad day. He's important for our games. Other than the missed shots, Cat played well. 4 assists, 3 steals, 2 boards, a block and a turnover (in 45 minutes mind you) are not bad stats (usually he'd have between 15-20 points but less assists and steals, so just a bad shooting night). I do hope that RT will sometime see that playing the guards for almost the entire game hurts a bit more than helps.
Yes, usually he starts out a bit slow, but he picks it up a lot, later. And it's not usually as bad as 0-7 or 0-8. I only remember once or twice this season he started out 0-6... maybe...
I wouldn't consider Mobley a cancer. That's going overboard on the metaphor. What he has become is a third wheel. The super tandem of the future will be Stevie and Yao which leaves Cat standing alone on the corner. That's why you see him out there playing one man ball; the guy needs his shots. He's got good trade value and the Rockets would be passing on a window of opportunity if they don't package him up in a trade deal. My preference would be a SG knows how to "stop and pop" a wide open shot. This team lacks good consistent shooting and they aren't getting it from guards like Cat, Mooch, and Posey who are currently filling that role.
