I have time warner in houston and channel 607 is showing the jazz feed. Whats up with that? I just happened to check
NBA LP likes to show FoxSports Net, the Rockets weren't able to reach an agreement with them this year. And neither is the Jazz broadcast, so I guess tonight it was a coin toss to see who they were going to show. I feel ya though Bud, I miss Bill and Calvin as well!
I thought all games in your home market were blacked out. I am in H-town and this has not happened all year.
I'm in Los Angeles and just saw the Clippers v. Suns game (Sun's broadcast). It would have been blacked out, but the local station didn't carry it. [It also happened to be an exciting game where Amare Stoudemire got schooled by Elton Brand, one of the few dominant PFs in the league that is shorter than him.] But I've been watching Rockets games on NBA League Pass all season, and I've never seen a single Houston broadcast. It's always been the opposing team. But it's pretty cool to see the perspective of the other team's announcers.
That's because of two things: 1. League Pass has a contract that requires them to choose the Fox Sports feed first over any other feed. Since the Rockets don't have a deal with them, if the other team does, the other team gets the broadcast. 2. From what I understand, because channel 51 is not broadcast on DirecTV, League Pass can't pick it up. I believe the channel has to be available on both major satellite providers for it to show up on League Pass. That is how it was explained to someone else who asked by the Rockets.
