A lot of people on this board are saying that Steve's points will probably go down or not increase by much because he will be more focused on passing the ball. To tell the truth, I totally disagree. Steve is the most reliable and best scorer we have on the team right now (with Mo having not played a regular season game with the Rockets yet). Also, anybody who has seen him in his Maryland days knows that he can be totally unselfish and still get a lot of points. Steve always finds ways to get his points and I'm sure he will be a better shooter this year.
Besides, Steve could have easily had much more assists last season (maybe 2-4 more) if we didn't suck so much. Players would miss wide open jumpers and layups that Steve set them up perfectly for. Steve will get more assists because our players will actually be able to convert, and his points won't necessarily drop because he get more assists.
Anyways, I see Steve increasing his ppg by a fairly large amount (3-5 points) and still racking up more assists because we have a better team.

To add to that.....When Francis scored 62 points in the Kenner Summer League, he had pretty close to double digit assists.....If memory serves me correctly.

Stevie will get his and still make the players around him better. I remember a certain guy with the initials of MJ being the same way.

"...Do you hear 'em? They're everywhere!!! AAAHHH!!!"

That's what the other teams will be saying after being shellshocked by Steve Francis and Co.

Speaking of Steve's 62 point summer league game, does anybody know any of the other stats he racked up that night? Like maybe assists, rebounds, or most importantly shots made and attempted.

To add to FranchiseCat's example of Jordan, he had 32.5 points, 8 assists, and 8 rebounds, and 2.9 steals one year. Hella nice statline if you ask me, and the important thing is he still got his teammates involved.
