My hunch is no. That's why it's crucial for them to stay one game ahead of the Lakers, at all cost. For the Rockets, the playoffs start tonight.

I don't think so, the lakers are on a roll and Kobe is playing like hes on steriods or something. I doubt the Suns or the Jazz will slow down anytime soon. If the rockets were in the East, it'd be a different story.

Obviously, it will be difficult but perhaps with a trade, we can get back in it.

I will be EXTREMELY dissapointed if we continue this type of losing streak and management does nothing about it. :(

Other than the Rockets, Minnesota and Phoenix are the most vulnerable teams going down the stretch.

Kevin Garnett was truly dominant for the first time in his career at the All Star Game. If he continues that through the end of the season, the loss of Joe Smith probably won't hold them back.

Phoenix is young and talented, like the Rockets. Teams are starting to come at Amare with the appropriate defenses to contain him. Penny is out, and he's a key piece in the Suns' puzzle.

So if the Rockets are going to make the playoffs, it's going to be because one of these teams falls off and the Rockets finish strong. Problem is that the Rockets have the toughest remaining schedule of the bunch.

Let's just hope the Rockets have "A Few Good Men."

    Go Rockets!! :)

It's not rational to assume we have to stay above the Lakers to get into the playoffs. I think the Lakers will only lose 5 or 6 more games the rest of the season. Obviously, we have to get Phoenix, Utah, or Minnesotta.

Penny is coming back in a week, he's not out all season. Phoenix is a much better team with his 15/5/5.

Malone and Stockton got a WHOLE All Star Break to re-charge.

Garnett played a lot, but it doesn't matter. He's the energizer bunny with incredible basketball skills. Good thing: Lost Rod Strickland for just under a month and Joe Smith for just under a month. How they play for the next couple of weeks is important.

We have to come out on fire and end it on fire. That's what we need.

i think if the rockets hit the number 9 spot, something will click in their minds.. I feel they'll drop before they get their asses in gear and start kicking ass again.

I don't know...the Rox are going to have to be alot more consistent in the 2nd half. I thought just a few weeks ago that we could be in the 5th spot for the playoffs. But now, I am wondering if we will even make the playoffs. We are playing just that inconsistent. If we don't make the playoffs, I foresee some changes in the off season.
