Nope. It's not. This thread was started (and titled) under the premise that a criminal said "Fox News inspired him" (to do his criminal act). Leftists immediately jumped on board, basically saying "see...fox news..BAD!".

I merely pointed out that you and others are quick to take something as evidence that something is bad...but your argument can be turned against other positions you have argued in the past ("it's not the religion"/"Islam is not the problem").

In both cases, a criminal says that one or the other was his source of "inspiration".

No, you made the jump that the way some extremists use the Quran is the fault of the Quran. That isn't the same comparison at all. Those extremists and their misuse of the Quran are what's present in the terrorism that you have an unhealthy focus on.

He pled guilty, but needs to be sentenced. It sounds like a good effort by the defense to minimize his punishment by admitting guilt, saying sorry, and explaining that he isn't an anti-Muslim activist who will be a continual threat in the future, he's just some honest citizen who caught riled up by a provacateur. If you were sentencing to guys for arson, to whom would you give the stiffer punishment -- the skin-head fighting to cleanse America and return it to its Aryan Christian roots, or the poor sap who is so ignorant he does what his TV tells him to do?

Of course, the best lies are grounded in truth, and I think it's the case here. He may be throwing Fox under the bus to save his own skin, but it's convincing because it's true that Fox does encourage xenophobia and Islamophobia.

I did not. I merely applied your logic that "Fox News is to blame that this guy did this" to a different situation.

Your analysis might be a tad off here. One can argue that the Quran offers both sides of the argument - hate and peace. While propaganda only offers one side.

I don't blame Fox News for what this man did just like I don't blame an old book for something a wacko does let's get that straight. I do however have a problem with the way Fox news Hosts/Shows interprets the Quron as well as the way crazy preachers intepret and teach it.

Nope, in one case the person who watched Fox news claims he was inspired by it. In the other a person who who's part of an organization which misuses the Quran, and tries to spread hateful fearful propaganda inspires the terrorist.

So if you are saying that Extremists terrorist organizations are like FOX News that's a step further than I would take it, but you are free to make that correlation.

But comparing the way someone uses information (like FOX and Terrorist organizations) to a book, or just the information itself isn't a valid comparison at all.

You incorrectly attempted to use logic. The problem with FOX news isn't the information they have. It's how they use it. The problem with terrorists isn't the Quran they have, it's how the organizations they are part of use it.

You left out the step in how the information is used. That's why your comparison is lacking, and your logic is flawed.

Nope, it is not flawed at all. On the contrary, it is obvious how you need to twist things to desperately try and hide your embarrassment.

... he says without bothering to address the fact that he missed the step of how the information was twisted by both FOX News and the terrorist organizations, but not the fault of the information or the Quran.

Fox News is dangerous. We should take them off the air. It would be best if the federal government would create a news agency so we can get these spin masters off the air!

Doesn't that also makes the people who say the Quran is the inspiration of horrible acts but Fox News cannot be also hypocritical? Works both ways brotha.

I was just pointing out that anytime when one of our fellow Muslim posters on this board disagrees with you you always post pictures of brown people with beards.
