The lead singer of Kool and the Gang was not with the band tonight at the All-Star game.

    Where is JT?

I did not catch it, but JT Kool was the "Kool" in Kool in the Gang. No word on where he is yet?

James Taylor left the band some time in the mid/late 80s if i recall correctly.

The put an album out right after he left (i guess without a replacement) and from what I heard, it was probably their worst album by far.

    Not quite.

Kool is Robert "Kool" Bell, who helped form the group with his brother, Ronald.

James "JT" Taylor came back to the group in 1995 when they made the album "State of Affairs" that bombed. I had not heard that he had left.

I think they are doing Galveston Mardi Gras. We'll have to wait and see.

I was looking for JT as well.

Gladys can still belt it out and makes that Shania chick Superbowl crap looks even worse in comparison.

I thought she sounded good as well until she started to hold the microphone about 3 feet away from her face with no change in level. Then I thought that they just had really good sound guys who were riding the faders. Then I realized that that was probably not the case when Kool and the Gang came out and the lead Mic wasn't in the mix. Then I switched the channel to MSNBC for some real excitement.

actually, Cool Pappa Bell was a great baseball player in the Negro Leagues...they used to say he was so fast he could hit a line drive up the middle and beat the ball to second base
