TD, Cook, Aldrich... those are throw ins. No one cares about them in a deal of this caliber. If it was possible could get Love for Millsap + Jones caliber prospect, Utah would find a way to get Love themselves, they don't need Houston at all.

Love is a superstar who's signed up for 3 years at least, and you want to get him for Patterson+Jones + expirings.

Ok, I give up. The mere fact that you think TD has absolutely zero value means we'll never get to an agreement regarding this topic.

Houston Out: Ppat, Delfino, DMo, TD, 2nd rd pick
Houston In: Perkins, Raja, Maynor, Liggins, Tor 1st

    Utah Out: Al Jeff, Raja
Utah In: Collison, Delfino, TD, DMo, 2nd rd pick

OKC Out: Perks, Collison, Maynor, liggins, Tor 1st
    OKC In: Al Jeff, PPat

Houston Outlook: We take on perks horrid contract but we get the toronto pick back and 3 expiring contracts... one in maynor where we can give him this year to see how he is after his injury from last year...

Utah Outlook: they trade al jeff and the locker room cancer raja for a solid post player in collison, solid role players in delfino and TD, while getting a young potential filled post player in DMo and gain a pick...

OKC Outlook: They lose the coveted toronto 1st but they get rid of Perks horrid contract, while going all in this year with Al Jeff... ppat replaces collisons role...

I was commenting on the scenario where we get the best C in the league for Asik and Lin.

    Simple two team trade

Houston Rockets / Sacramento Kings trade:

Kings receive: Omer Asik, Chandler Parsons, Marcus Morris and Scott Machado

Rockets receive: DeMarcus Cousins, Francisco Garcia and Isaiah Thomas

    Rockets roster:
    PG: Lin / Douglas/ Thomas
    SG: Harden / Garcia
    SF: Delfino / Jones
    PF: Patterson / Motiejunas
    C: Cousins / Smith /Aldrich

Yes, and I was responding to that situation. You get the best C in the league, but only till the end of the season. So basically a rental Howard for Asik and Lin and probably Parsons.

How about anyone they want for Love other than Harden. Now we have 2 years to build a team around 2 young superstars. Isn't that Moreys strong suite? Finding solid players for cheap.

Rockets cash in two youngsters to help make the playoffs this season and add a possible long term piece while retaining cap flexibility to add a max level player in the off season.

This also will send all the LOF to Utah, so we have an even bigger reason to root against them.

We gain half a season to court Milsap and drastically improve our odds to make the post season this year. This would drastically improve our offense with unknown effects on defense.

    Williams / Douglas / Machado
    Harden / Delfino / Cook
    Parsons / Morris /
    Milsap / Jones / Dmo
    Asik / Smith / Aldrich

Assuming Milsap signs a new deal starting somewhere near his current salary and Cook, Delfino, etc are not retained, the Rockets have max cap money available to spend. Notable free agents include Paul, Howard, Bynum and Iguodala.

I think if you take a good hard look at Bynum because adding him and you could very well be a contender.

Interesting idea, not that I really like it but it's a different angle. Not really hurting the longer term plans apart from the potential that Lin could give you. It would be the trade to do if you thought you had a good chance at Chris Paul.

Considering we have too many PF and not enough quality PGs, I wonder whether a trade of Marcus Morris and Toney Douglas for Brandon Jennings would be beneficial. Jennings gives us the 3-point ability of Douglas as well as Toney's proclivity for wild shots with MM as sweetener. Jennings has great handles and would be a strong backup for Lin -- and could be a starter when Lin is having a bad day.

You think that might be a beneficial trade for the Rockets? Really? :p

Jennings is way better than Douglas and the Bucks have a gazillion PFs themselves.

    Don't hate it.

    ---

I think we'll end up making just a few small deals during the season this year. Don't think anybody of importance is going to become available and even if somebody does become available I'm not sure we quite have the pieces yet.

We're kinda due for a trade with the Kings, so maybe something like Delfino and Machado for Isaiah Thomas & James Johnson.
Kings could use a vet like Delfino who can space the floor for them. Thomas has lost his starting spot to Brooks and now isn't even getting consistent minutes ahead of Jimmer.
I think Thomas is a player though and trading him would allow us to move Douglas to his more natural SG role off the bench. Thomas is also quite cheap.

Houston: No, unless D12 signs an extension.
Lakers: No, unless Dolan personally insures Amar'e Contract.
    Knicks: THank you very much.
