Here is another trade that works on realgm.com and it would give Atlanta more cap room sooner which is what they might be looking for.

    Houston trades:
SG Mobley (3 years remaining on contract)
    PF Griffin (3 years)
    SF Rice (1 year)

    Atlanta trades:
    PF Rahim (2 years)
    G Terry (1 year)

    Trade Accepted

No offense, Shady, but the Rocks might as well stay pat.

Terry (one of my favorites, BTW) is a more consistent Mobley, and obtaining 'Reef (who I've always liked since he was at Cal) is just a choice of offense over defense.

The improvement, IMHO, would be slight, especially considering that the team would have to start establishing chemistry all over again.

I would go with that deal. Abdur Rahim, Yao and Francis is a nice trio.
    Who would play SG though

No way. Reef plays in the eastern conference right now, he's doing well but although he has some pretty good players around him, he can't get ANYWHERE. Griffin, although not great on D, provides more D than Reef. I mean, we trade away Griffin and have Reef and Taylor as our pfs?? Are you CRAZY? And what's even worse, you suggest a two for one.. you're going to give up Mobley and his cheap contract who can play good offense and defense AS WELL AS GRIFFIN, for Reef... incredible.
Now if it was Taylor for Reef, hell yes. We get little D, but increase offensive output and rebounding. And yes I agree with the fact that getting Rahim would alleviate pressure on Ming (jeez we really need to get a forward who can score consistently and has a decent post game). Throw in a bench wamer too, say Maddox, Rice would be wishful thinking.
But I doubt the Hawks would show any interest in that. And no way they trade away their first rounder for anything less than a star.

Brand would be great to have, but can we really get him? Very much doubt it. I still think our best bet is Kurt Thomas, though I doubt that will happen.

Why is it that none of the pro-SAR supporters are bothered by the fact the SAR was not appointed to any of the open 6 All Star spots by the EC coaches? This in a conference that is short on big men but yet we want him so that he can neutralize Duncan, Webber, Rasheed, Brand, Malone & Nowitski?

Probably the same way that Walker who is horrible but on a decent team is on it. The same way a guy like Payton is leading the league in asst and not starting. The same way that when he played for the woeful Grizz and avg 23pts and 10 rebs still didn't make it. Just because he didn't make it doesn't mean he's not a really good players.
