I think Yao's personality has a lot to do with it. He is just not a demanding person.

Big men never get the ball in ASG. Yao couldn't blame others but himself. He needs to compete for offensive rebs but he's going through the motion.

Doesn't matter though. He will have the next 10 years or so to learn! :D

Is it just me or is Kobe the biggest black hole ever? Damn, that guy waves off people right and left.

Nice balanced game from the Franchise. Yao just being polite. He's got plenty of time to be a stud in this league.

That's true. Olajuwon NEVER looked good in the ASG.

Remember, the fans made Vince Carter a starter.

Anyway, Yao needs the rest. I think resting for the upcoming playoff stretch is more important than minutes in the ASG

I'm glad Yao didn't play that much. He needs the rest.

Sometimes I wonder why people here care so much about such trivial things...

has anyone who is whining heard of/seen an All-Star game before??

Rookie All-Stars (no matter whether they are starters or not) generally don't get that many minutes, it's just the way it is, the established All-Stars get the majority of the minutes..... deal with it, Yao will have plenty of All-Star games to play in!!!

Does anybody else wish that Yao had lost out to Shaq and Vlade in the balloting, so that he would have had the extra time off?

I'm a big fan of our big rookie, but I think Yao needs to learn to make the most of his minutes as an All Star - whether it's 10 minutes or 40.

He should demonstrate that he actually WANTS the ball and WANTS to score - the other guys are actively looking for opportunities left and right. Perhaps Yao has a few butterflies for starting in his first ASG, but his level of aggression and desire to score needs to jump up a few notches.

I agree with spikes.I don't care much about the ASG but Yao needs to demand the ball more in the 2nd half of the season or else he might not get enough chances to score or to pass out and set up the guards to score.

Exactamundo! :p Stevie had some BeAuTiFuL passes tonight.

Some of those passes were so smooth and fast that the camera couldnt even follow. Fast break no look pass behind the back. so nice.

who cares how much yao played? it's a meaningless game.

but if you think yao cared at all or even felt bad about it...imagine how big Z felt. He logged just 4 minutes. Way to show Ilgauskas that he's an all star Zeke.

I posted this message during the first half of the game. I have seperate post with a link to the box scores. I didn't expect this older thread to get bumped back up.
