So far it looks like a good group of rooks. Nothing spectacular, but still noteworthy. Here's a list of the ones i have noticed making regular contributions to their teams: Anthony Davis Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Bradley Beal Thomas Robinson Damian Lillard Harrison Barnes Terrence Ross Andre Drummond Austin Rivers Meyers Leonard John Henson Tyler Zeller Andrew Nichollson Jared Sullinger Jeff Taylor Jae Crowder Draymond Green Will Barton Doron Lamb
Lillard is looking like the clear ROY so far. Only because Davis has missed so many games though. We'll see how it ends up by April, but for now Lillard has been a beast.
I think Lillard is quite spectacular. He's had a few off-games, but for the most part he's a very polished player. Looking like he could be a future all-star.
This thread has nothing to do with the ROY watch. This is a thread for all 2012 rookies. For instance, i like how Draymond Green has been coming on of late.
I like the Robinson pick, given the King's situation. I think him and Demarcus can form a formidable frontcourt for years to come. And I don't think Lillard, Thorton, and Evans can play together. There simply aren't enough balls in the game.
Kidd-Gilchrist has only had a handful of poor shooting nights this season. He's about a 50% shooter in his first 20 games. That's amazing for his position, team, and age. He is pretty solid everywhere else. Look, the Bobcats have already won more games than last season. Last season they were the worst team in history, now they are not even one of the 5 worst teams in the league. I don't know his game too well, but his boxscores have looked really good. He's blending in and not trying to do too much.
At age 19 (vs 22 for Lillard), MKG could still end up being the best choice at #2 pick from the 2012 draft. He is doing quite well.
Thomas Robinson was one who i thought would hit the floor running. I guess he'll come on soon enough.
