Did Clutchcity BBS cause this?

Because of the team's inconsistency (beating the Kings, Lakers, Timberwolves and Spurs but losing to the Clippers, Cavaliers, Bulls and Grizzlies), some fans have called for owner Les Alexander to make a coaching change. Alexander says he hasn't lost faith in Rudy Tomjanovich. He shouldn't. For all of their talent, the Rockets still are inexperienced, and they will improve as C Yao Ming develops. . . .

Looks like this the word is getting out there.......because of this BBS?? :D

If the Rockets don't make the playoffs, Rudy will be moved into the front office or fired for sure.

    Remember kids: Stay off crack.

It's funny that 1) the entire BBS now wants Rudy fired, and 2) the entire Rocket fan world that doesn't visit the BBS does not want Rudy fired. Huh? The BBS is representative of all fans' opinions. Many who don't agree with a majority thought here have such a problem with it that they try to dismiss it as some madness that runs rampant here, but that's just not accurate.

To answer your question 'smashfast', I can't say with 100% certainty on that piece, but I would guess yes - the BBS caused that piece, and I know for sure other pieces (about Francis, Mobley, Rudy). When members of the media look to find out what Rockets fans are thinking, they come here. It's not like they just come here on a search -- they are told to come here when they need to know what the fans are saying. That's not my opinion - that's fact. You'd be very surprised to hear some of the names that come here often.

You don't listen to local sports radio much, do you?

Reasonable or not... It's good the word is out there. Because there's nothing worse than someone that thinks their job is safe regardless of what their on-the-job performance is like.

Pressure and accountability is good. Just like an elected official. :D

Also, Clutch...don't you think that the most die-hard Rox fans (homers or not) are here on this BBS, and represent the most loyal? I mean, the ones that don't care (fair-weather or bandwagon) are the ones that really don't know what the Rockets are doing at any particular time of the year. At least, not until they start winning. It seems to me the ones that are not on this BBS are the one that have recently become "fans" of the Rockets and can only see the recent change (winning percentage and Yao's addition), rather than the difference from the last 5 years (tendencies, bad habits, trends...etc...).

I think we get more out of debate here, than any other sports bar on a givin night. And that debate and brainstorming we get here create lots of different points of view that others out at Sporst bars, or sitting at home don't ever get to participate in.

Im sure they get plenty of news from this BBS, but this BBS only represents a very small portion of fans. Now if you threw up a poll, that would be quite different.

As for firing ruddy, its a very comment concept of replacing the coach before the players. If a coach can't win with a good cast, then he must be replace. A team is built around the players, not the coach.

Rudy is a good coach but unfortuately, he doesn't have the cast that fits his game plan. Instead of adapting (which he has done in the past), he is relying on what used to win 6 years ago. Perhaps he was not a brilliant coach as once thought, but only lucky.

I feel we do need a new head coach. I think Rudy is an excellent coach, but as of now, he can't produce wins. Perhaps being an assistant coach would be good for him.
