the packers ended 15-1, and they played awful in the playoffs. so its not about the regular season, its about the playoffs
difference being the Packers won it all the year before and get the benefit of the doubt. Texans have yet to do anything like that so they are scrutinized along with Atlanta for that matter.
difference is, that team played as a team. got into the playoffs with some hele and found their running game along with the defense. I remember a certain 'elite' qb throwing 2 ints and 0 tds when facing a bears defense that disrupted their O-line, thankfully green bay's generated turnovers. jesus, i need some sleep. i'm starting to get as annoying as you trolls and debbie downers suicidal fans.
The silver lining of yesterday’s game was imagining how ****ty all the bandwagon fans that went to the game must feel….
Why doesn't Schaub perform great when it really comes down to it? In big games, Schaub stinks it up. The whole offense did, except for Johnson, who tried his best. Nobody else caught a thing. Our defense got tore up but I think the game would have been way different if the Texans recovered that fumble. And do the Texans need another WR because it seems like those young guys are not ready for the big games.
Your first point is a myth. Schaub played pretty well at Detroit and vs Baltimore this season. Everybody was bad last night, even #80. He wasn't getting separation from defenders and no-name def backs almost got interceptions on passes Andre should have caught. You're right abou the defense. Things would have been different without that penalty on Harris that gave the Patriots a 1st down instead of a 4th down. Things would have been even more different if the offense scored instead of giving the ball up. By the time of the fumble it was pretty much over.
I guess what I meant to ask was Why doesn't he play well when its a national televised game? To me it seems like he just doesn't have that KILLER mentality like other QBs have. This is what separates the Great from the good. Detroit is a worse team isn't it? And the Ravens were just crapping it up like the Texans crapped it up against New England although the Ravens were missing more pieces to their defense than the Texans. Not saying the Texans are bad or anything, I just think its something of a concern. - The QB, WR position and the secondary. Am I wrong? QB - Need someone with Killer Mentality, Although Schaub is good, he is not great. But I like Schaub. Don't get me wrong. Although this position isn't that much of a concern compared to others. WR- Another player who can take the load of the TEs and Dre. Johnson is the only receiver who is usually consistent. Secondary - Well most games speak for that..
I agree that it's usually best to go into the postseason without that target on your back (like the Packers did last season) and having been truly battle tested and having suffered some tough losses... I had very low expectations going into last night -- thought it would be a tough, fairly close loss -- but man, I feel about as ****ty after that as I have after a game since 2010. Yes, there were a few plays/penalties that swung the momentum and caused us to fall down a slippery slope, but it's hard to sugarcoat that beat-down. I just hope that we're able to turn it up to another level in the playoffs (having a healthy Joseph will really help the defense). I also hope that Arian has another gear that he'll hit like he did in last year's playoffs. I've felt all along that he was coasting and saving himself so far this year, but I'm not so sure after last night.
