I'm pretty sure the basics of team's x's and o's won't change that much. It's not like they replaced McHale with a complete outsider, Sampson was already on the staff and had significant say in what went on before McHale took a leave of absence. Some of Sampson's in-game reactions/adjustments may be different, but it's not like the Rockets were going from Mike Brown to Mike D'Antoni and then back.
I don't want to be a scumbag, but after that, can McHale be fired? It's kinda double hit, one after other. I don't think Rockets should, but I have seen some posts of users who wanted a new coach, lol
Statistically the Rockets defense went waaay downhill when Sampson stepped in. That may be a case of "correlation is not causation", and it might have nothing to do with coaching, but I'm still going to hope for some improvement here.
players are developing fine, we are exciting team to watch, we can win anybody, we even blow out contenders sometime...what more could you expect from a coach...stick with mcHale...
WB McHale. Makes me wonder how quickly he'll get fully involved in the team and rotations. He might just ease into it, he might take it hands on. Also makes me wonder how the team and players will respond on the floor. Should be an interested set of games in terms of what sort of product we put on the floor.
Hopefully, the team will defend better once Mchale is back. Can't win championship or advance far into the playoffs without defense.
